REQUIRED SCHOOL ACCOUNTS

SMART TUITION Account - Westover uses Smart Tuition to administer its tuition and fee billing. Each family is required to have a Smart Tuition account through which the School will bill ONLY contracted tuition items – net tuition, tuition refund plan, consolidated fee, international students services fee, and international student health insurance premium. No additional charges will be added to your tuition account during the course of the school year.

MyKidsSpending Account (MKS) – All other charges, fees and incidental expenses will be billed through MyKidsSpending account. This includes school store and snack bar purchases, transportation to and from non-school activities, art, photo and ESL course fees, and music lessons. To facilitate billing, we require each family to set up a MyKidsSpending account from which you can monitor your daughter’s MKS account and replenish it as needed throughout the year.

MKS Initial Deposit (due between July 15 and July 31, 2017):

Boarding and International Students: $1,500.00 Day Students: $750.00

TUITION PAYMENT OPTION

Parents can choose one of three payment plans through Smart Tuition:

·  Single Pay Plan, due July 31, 2017

·  Two Pay Plan, with equal payments due the 31st of July and November.

·  10-Payment Plan, with payments paid in 10 equal installments beginning June, 2017 and ending March, 2018, administered through Smart Tuition. Smart Tuition assesses a $50 administrative fee for this payment plan.

·

Payments can be made via check or credit card through Smart Tuition online, over the phone or by mail, and can be set up as automatic electronic debit through your checking account or credit card. All families will be set up to receive emailed invoices; if you prefer a mailed invoice, you can change to this option online.

Payments can also be sent directly to the school by check or wire. Domestic families can wire payments through TD Bank and international families can wire payments using flywire by peerTransfer.

Explanation of Fees

The Tuition Refund Plan (TRP) - The fee is calculated as 2.2 percent of net tuition cost (tuition less financial aid) and is OPTIONAL FOR ALL PAYMENT PLANS. Please note that this is a change from past policies. The Plan will partially reimburse tuition (prepaid and due) in the event of absence or separation, after 14 days from the first day of classes, according to the terms described in the TRP enclosed brochure.

The Consolidated Fee - In order to make the costs of Westover more predictable, we have consolidated several fees that occur during the course of the year. These include: the Health Center Fee, which provides for stays in the School Health Center, all consultations with the Physician’s Assistant or School Physician, athletic trainer, all non-prescription medications, medical supplies, and laboratory services performed at the Health Center; a Technology Fee to provide for

e-mail and internet access for each student. The fee also includes a yearbook for each student and transportation Friday and Saturday evenings to a local mall or movie-theater.

Note: The fee does not provide for medical treatment outside of the School at local hospitals and doctors’ offices.

All students are required to have health insurance with a U.S. carrier for this purpose. International Students: see below.

International Student Injury and Sickness Insurance ($1,725 for 10-month coverage) – International students are required to be covered by health insurance with a U.S. carrier. The School will enroll all international students in this health insurance program and the cost of the premium will be billed to the tuition account. This health insurance coverage provides up to $500,000 in medical coverage.

The International Student Services Fee ($2,150) – This fee covers the cost of administrative expenses associated with admission, an international advisor, and programs for international students. This fee will be added to your tuition bill, administered through Smart Tuition.

Enrollment in English as a Second Language (ESL) ($700 per trimester) – Required of any international student whose first language is not English, unless she can demonstrate, based upon a TOEFL test, that her level of English competence is sufficient to enable her a passing grade in our regular English program. This fee is billed to your Student Debit Account when applicable.
