BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING

August 5, 2013

MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

ATTENDEES:

Wendy Thorne, Bob DeVilleneuve, Dean LePage and approximately 15 citizens.

CALL TO ORDER:

Wendy called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Welcome to the viewing audience and flag salute.

PUBLIC HEARING:

·  A Public Hearing was held to adopt the July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2014 General Assistance Ordinance Appendices C. Minutes for the Public Hearing is a separate document.

HEARING OF CITIZENS

·  Opened the floor to citizens of Carroll Lane who may have new information to offer. The Board will only hear testimony and will take information into consideration. Speakers included Steve Malmude, Jonathan Malmude, Lisa LePage and Florence Glidden.

OLD BUSINESS

.

·  Signed amended Purchase & Sales Agreement for Map 22 Lot 48.

·  Received market analysis from Janet Hogan, Cote & Howe Realty, for town owned properties. Dean to review.

NEW BUSINESS

·  Motion made and seconded to appoint Kathy Ward as a member to the Board of Appeals. All were in favor

·  Motion made and seconded to extend Modem Wavs Contract for an additional ten (10) hours. All were in favor.

·  The renewal of the contract with Sprinkler Systems Inspection Corp was tabled until more information could be gathered.

·  The Board is seeking bids for cleaning and painting a room at the Municipal Building. Dean to provide scope of work.

·  Signed Monthly General Assistance Reimbursement Report for July.

·  Maine Department of Labor has produced a video explaining the new Global Harmonization System. Each employee will need to be trained on the new system by December 1, 2013.

·  Judy announced she has received the new voting machine. Also, her office will be closed Thursday afternoon, August 8th so she can attend a workshop.
