Public present: Michael Heaney, Peter Concilio, Micah Heaney, Gordon Archer
Approved minutes of the March 19, 2012 meeting.
Signed orders.
Old Business:
1. Peter Concilio spoke about the plans for a Jazz Fest on June 23 at the Rec Center.
2. Marie Kirn, Ann Adams and Tom Ripley have agreed to be representatives to the two Council on Aging committees.
New Business:
1. Gordon Archer came to ask the status of the consolidated police force.
2. Gordon also spoke about bus safety especially the road condition of Route 5 going south out of Hartland.
3. Micah Heaney presented his ideas for extending the trail at HES which he worked on last year for his Eagle Scout project. The Board approved the extension.
4. Signed liquor license for Skunk Hollow Tavern.
5. Approved borrowing $230,000 from the Capital Reserve Fund for the purchase of a 2012 Caterpillar grader. Repayment will be over five years starting with $10,000 in fiscal year 2012-2013 and $55,000 plus interest at a rate of 0.2% per year in the following four fiscal years..
6. Discussed an incident of dog killing chickens. The owner of the chickens (Steve Howard) presented a statement of his financial loss to the Board. The Board directed the Town Manager to send the statement to the dog owner (Joshua Blanchard) and suggest that the two parties work out an agreement between themselves.
7. Signed permit allowing VTel to replace cable with fiber optic lines in various locations in town.
8. Bob will notify Fred Coley that fines will be reinstated as of April 2, 2012, since no evident progress in his property clean up.
9. Approved numerous requests for funds from the Campbell Merritt fund: $82 for furnace repair; $608.18 for an overdue electric bill; $607.50 for 125 gallons of kerosene; $375.37 for an overdue propane bill; $410 for 125 gallons of fuel oil; $165 for a used desktop computer to track medication costs; $6,692.33 to repair the plumbing system of a mobile home.
