CALL TO ORDER: A meeting of the Virginia Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers was called to order at 9:00 a.m.

QUORUM:With five board members present, a quorum was established.

The Virginia Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers convened a telephone conference call, pursuant to §54.1-§54.1-110 and §54.1-2408.1 of the Code of Virginia on August 31 2007 at 10:00 a.m.

Kiplin Jordan, F.S.L.Mr. Halblieb presented evidence of alleged fraud; failure to

#return monies from insurance policies totaling approximately $35,000; Mr. Jordan executed reassignment forms for monies to be paid to him without the family members approval or signature. Recently denied the Department of Health Professions inspectors access to the funeral establishment to do the inspection.

The Board wants the facility inspected get law enforcement to go with the inspector. Mr. Kotvas, agreed with the formal hearing and doing a consent order to summarily suspend his license and the funeral homes licenses in order to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth.

DecisionMr. Burgermade a motion to summarily suspend the license of Mr. Kiplin Jordan. The motion was seconded by Mr. Murphy and carried unanimously

Ms. Hughes made a second motion to obtain a receivership or an injunction contact the HenricoCounty law officials to be present for the close of the funeral establishment. Contact the proper law enforcement officials to go with the inspectors to the funeral home for the inspection, also contact the State Corporation Commission (SCC), with regards to insurance issues.The motion was seconded by Mr. Nelsenand carried unanimously.
