MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BYPRESIDENT

President Kottke called the meeting to order at 5:30p.m. Roll was taken and is recorded above.

DISCUSSION/ACTION ON MINUTES OF THE JANUARY 28, 2013 SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

Mr. Panzer, seconded by Mr. Kraft, moved to approve the minutes of the January 28, 2013 school board meeting. Motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 noes, 0 absent.

DISCUSSSION ON FINANCIAL REPORT

Administrator Yoder presented the financial report for February 11, 2013. The report is filed with the clerk.

DISCUSSION/ACTION ON WARRANTS THROUGH FEBRUARY 11, 2013.

Mr. Panzer, seconded by Mr. Kraft, moved to approve the warrants throughFebruary 11, 2013. Motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 noes, 0 absent.

DISCUSSION/ACTION ON THE MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDY TEAM RECOMMENDATION

Mr. Dercks, seconded by Mr. Panzer, moved to accept the sixth, seventh, & eighth grade middle school transition as presented by the Middle School Study Team. Motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 noes, 0 absent.

DISCUSSION/ACTION ON THE 2013-2014 SCHOOL CALENDAR

Mr. Panzer, seconded by Mrs. Murphy-Steinke, moved to accept the revised 2012-2013 school year calendar due to snow make up days. Motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 noes, 0 absent.

Mr. Panzer, seconded by Mr. Dercks, moved to accept the 2013-2014 School Calendar as presented except with amending the January 22, 2014, February 19, 2014, and the April 23, 2014 early dismissal days to regular school days.

DISCUSSION ON HIGH SCHOOL SCHEDULE AND GRADUATION CREDITS FOR THE 2013-14 SCHOOL YEAR

Principal Heinzelman shared with the Board the possible changes to be made to the 2013-14 school year daily time schedule for the Jr/Sr High School and possible changes to the high school graduation credits. Board discussion followed.

DISCUSSION/ACTION ON 2013 SPRING COACHES

Mr. Panzer, seconded by Mr. Kraft, move to approve the spring coaches and volunteers as follows:

DISCUSSION ON PROCEDURE FOR PUBLIC INPUT

Board discussion took place on putting public input back on the agenda.

DISCUSSION ON SOUND SYSTEM

Mr. Nyhuis shared with the Board quotes on updating our sound system in the Jr/Sr High School and the Oakfield Elementary School. Board discussion followed.

DISCUSSION ON LEGISLATIVE ISSUES

Principal Heinzelman reviewed current legislative issues.

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE REPORT

No Student Representative report available

ADMINISTRATOR REPORTS

Principal Yoder informed the Board that the Elementary School had a lock down drill, our security system is ordered and hope to have it by the end of the month, and events going on in the school will be breakfast and a good book and a St. Baldwicks fundraiser.

Administrator Yoder presented Mr. Nyhuis with a WASBO Level 1 School Board award. Congratulations Mr. Nyhuis.

Principal Heinzelman shared that we have three wrestlers that have advanced to sectionals, Matt Gross, Ross Ellison, and Wyatt O’Brien. Good Luck to them.
