MHAA May 2016 Minutes

Board Members Present- John Masica, Jen Hazzard, Bryce Anderson, Joel Denenholtz, Aaron Macke

Call to Order- 7:36 p.m.

Executive Director/President- T-ball information night was last Tuesday, with 91 players registered so far. John has had many compliments about how organized things are for the season. First games are tomorrow and John will be there to help get things started. The concession stand is stocked and ready to go. John is also getting taxes ready to send to tax preparer. The board also discussed a pay increase for the executive director position.

Treasurer- None

Lacrosse- 2016/17 season will include teams at the u11/u13B level. Both teams have 16 rostered players. Registration will continue until 5/25 for both teams. Pre-season spring games begin on 5/8 with 2 games for each team. Week 2 and Week 3 Spring Games will continue on 5/15 and 5/22 with 4 remaining games. Head coaches are finalized (Alex Libera for u11 and Chris Andrews for u13B). August Johnson and John Myran, STA students, will be assistant coaches. Jerseys were ordered and will be delivered prior to summer season. Lacrosse nets have been set up at Kensington. There have been some additional nets that showed up at Kensington, and they belong to other teams that are participating at Kensington.

Soccer- Budget approved

Football- Jason is resigning as Commissioner to take a football coaching position at STA. Kaan Cergioglu was voted in to replace Jason as Commissioner. Jason will be available to help this season with duties. Registration for football starts May 30th. Season will begin 8/15/16.

Softball- Softball has 201 registrations this season. This is the most registrations in the past 4 years. We have 8 travel teams and 12 in the 6u/8u league. 10u/12u started league play last week, 14u starts in 2 weeks and 16u starts the first week in June. 8u started clinics last week and 6u/8u regular practices tonight. Last season we invited 2 8u teams from IGH to play in our league and we have done so again this season. Rob Reetz has accepted the position of 6u/8u Age Level Director and has taken on much of the responsibility for these age groups.

Baseball- In house teams have been formed and games have started. Baseball is ok with fields. There will be extra uniforms to use for next season, based on ordering this season and last.

Basketball- None
