Founded in 2005, Blue Waters Productions Inc focuses on producing film and video and is a subsidiary of Saunders-Franklyn Associates (SFA) Inc, one of the Caribbean’s leading public relations and public education firms. The company has a strong track record of producing quality video and audio productions over the 12 years of its existence. The company has produced public service announcements, narrative drama, documentaries and short corporate features for television.

HIT FOR SIX!

Blue Waters Productions assembled the best regional talent in filmmaking for Hit For Six!, a feature film made in 2007 with a budget of US$700,00 which was the first Barbadian film to acquire commercial theatrical distribution deals outside of the country. Hit for Six has been screened in theatres across the Caribbean, at the prestigious American Film Institute Silver Theatre and at various festivals overseas. The company also has the vision to tap into the International Markets, specifically the UK where a strong Caribbean Diaspora is present and equally a strong cricket culture. The demand for films reflecting Caribbean culture and life has also inspired the making of such a film. We also believe that there will be appeal in Europe given the film’s powerful portrayal of Caribbean culture.

What differentiates the Film Hit for Six! from other films produced in Caribbean is its combination of superior quality cinematography, talent, a regional and international pool of capital and skills that go well beyond the boundaries of this film. Blue Waters Productions’ current support network comprises of industry professionals in Hollywood (USA), Bollywood (India), UK and USA. Interest has been expressed in the film by sales agents from the UK attending the American Film Market; and these need to be pursued further, possibly through the Bizclim mission. We also have an offer of theatrical screenings (see addendum) and need to pursue the BBC for television distribution.

We see the 2nd BizClim Project Mission to Europe as a necessary opportunity to facilitate the film’s market entry into Europe, to target and build relationships that would result in partnerships with other film producers who may have an interest in producing films in the Caribbean. It is hoped that via this mission Blue Waters Productions would engage in meaningful dialogue to identify film distributors, film investors, and TV/Cable stations who are willing to broadcast the film locally.

Blue Waters Productions specifically needs assistance in identify those companies and parties aforementioned, but would also like to meet with local cricket organizations in the UK to co-ordinate screenings of the film at their cricket clubs. Our company hopes to create a niche market for Caribbean films by this venture and create a passageway to Europe for other regional film products and professionals.

Hit for Six won three awards at the Bridgetown Film Festival and was recently nominated for Best International Feature Film at the International Film Festival South Africa 2008 and has been chosen as a feature selection at more than five film festivals this year in the USA, including the prestigious National Black Arts Festival, recently held in Atlanta.

PRODUCTION SERVICES

Blue Waters Productions is offering the full range of film and video production services to international film and video companies wishing to produce in the Caribbean. The company has assembled a world class team of professionals in the various production areas and can use its knowledge of the region to assist international producers. (See dossier attached) The BizClim project can help identify potential clients in Europe who would wish to use these services and follow-up on leads already existing. This business will also help develop the regional film industry. Blue Waters Productions boasts a state of the art HD editing suite which is available for rental with or without an editor. We have been approached by Hollywood Classics to provide services for a film to be shot in the Caribbean

CO- PRODUCTIONS

Blue Waters Productions is also keen to explore co-production agreements with European companies, particularly since it is possible for companies from CARICOM member states to take advantage of the Jamaica- UK Co-Production Treaty which is in final stages of completion once Jamaica benefits from the production. We have interest from Greenpark Productions and Hollywood Classics in this regard.
