Saturday/Sunday / On your own / Varsity – try for 6 days a week
Plan on practice being 90 minutes (not any longer)
If transportation is a problem then an upperclassmen can help carpool
Have a watch and bring a water bottle!

Mileage – How far will you run this summer?
Varsity and those in shape / 35-60 miles per week
1 long run, 1 tempo, no speed, easy miles
Junior Varsity / 20-35 miles per week
Just stay healthy
Beginners / 10-20 miles per week
Get to running 30 minutes without stopping
Everyone / Do NOT increase mileage by more than 10% a week
Injured / Talk to a coach

Summer runs are the best way to get to know your teammates and get in shape before the season starts.

Summer runs are not required, but are STRONGLY recommended. If you can’t make practice then run on your own.

Important Dates
Friday August 4th / Complete physical packet turned into office (dated after May 1, 2017)
***Get your ferritin levels checked with physical – especially GIRLS***
Monday August 14th / First official day of practice
Practice time to be determined at a later date.
Wednesday August 16th / Cross country practice AFTER SCHOOL starts
3:15 pm in the fixed forum – Be dressed and ready!
Saturday August 26th / Extravaganza
6 am – 2 pm
Everyone goes – this is considered a practice

Make sure you are ready to commit to the season.
