Thank you for applying for the position of part time Receptionist with our organisation.

This position is offered on a 12 month contract. The position is paid on the SACS Award 2; SCHADS award Level 3, paypoint depending on qualifications and experience and based on a 38 hour week.

This position is a part time position, 21 hours per week worked over 3 days (Monday, Wednesday & Friday) starting as soon as possible in the new year. This period of employment will provide the successful applicant an opportunity for orientation and training.

BMWHRC is a community-managed organisation run by women for women. We employ around 20 part-time staff and offer a wide range of health, support and group services.

In your application can you please outline (briefly) how you meet the selection criteria below?

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA - Demonstrated skills in the following:

  • Reception skills gained from a similar environment;
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Problem solving skills and demonstrated initiative
  • Ability to work self-directed as well as part of a team;
  • Effective communication skills (eg written, verbal, communicate with wide range of people);
  • Expert computer skills eg proficiency in MS Office programs, operating databases; etc;
  • Ability to work flexible hours from time to time (eg vary hours of work or provide relief for other receptionist);
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of women and within a feminist model;

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  • Knowledge/experience of using medical practice management software (or similar) eg Best Practice;
  • Experience of working in a women’s health centre or community based organisations;
  • Relevant qualifications in office work/welfare/community organisations;
