Our blueberry garden is one attraction that tourists really enjoy. On the first weekends in June and July, there is a blueberry celebration. The celebration begins with a blueberry picking contest. A trophy is given to the guest who picks the most blueberries. The blueberries are then given to our cook staff, and all the guests at the resort are invited to a blueberry feast that evening. You won’t believe the delicious blueberry recipes that our cooks have created. And don’t worry about getting thirsty, we have plenty of blueberry swizzlers that are sure to wet your whistle.
During the blueberry celebration, a contest will be held for young ladies ages thirteen through thirty. Each contestant will compete in swimwear, evening wear, and talent categories to try and earn the title of Miss Blueberry Blossom. For the gentlemen, we have a kangaroo catcher competition. The gentlemen will all compete with our record setting kangaroo in a hopping race. If anyone is able to hop faster and farther than the kangaroo, he will be rewarded with a big kiss from Miss Blueberry Blossom along with a check for $100.00.
The resort also has a beautiful lake for relaxation and recreation. Lake activities include skiing, parasailing, fishing, and paddle boating. The lake banks are also home for many eagle and osprey nests. These majestic birds are often seen gliding gracefully over the lake. We invite guests to view and photograph the birds as they please, but we are very respectful of these creatures of nature. Hunting is strictly prohibited. We strive to rescue and care for animals, and it is our policy to never harm them.
