Senior Research Paper – Works Cited Sheet

You must independently LOCATE, SECURE, and CITEa minimum of eight sources that you WILL use in your essay, and compile these into a Works Cited sheet that you submit via Google Docs OR in hard copy at the start of class on Wednesday, February 18th.

STEP 1: LOCATE

  • Utilize the online databases accessible from the CHS Library. At least three of your annotated sources must be drawn from CHS Library on-line or print resources. I will be able to tell if you’ve done this when I examine your MLA citations.
  • Utilize the free web (internet) to access current articles and resources.

STEP 2: SECURE

  • Finding information is useless if you do not know how to find that information again in the future. For electronic resources, consider cutting and pasting the text of the source into a Google doc that you save in a special folder in your Google Drive. Be sure to keep the citation with the text!
  • If you use the CHS Library and locate a print source, check it out.

STEP 3: CITE

  • Use EasyBib or other citation generators to create a perfect MLA citation.
  • How I can tell when you have done this WRONG:
  • The font is not Times New Roman 12 point.
  • It includes a URL. MLA citations do not include website URLs.
  • It has a shaded background that indicated it was cut-and-pasted incorrectly.
  • It is not double-spaced.
  • It does not have a hanging indent.
  • It does not end with a period.
