JOB TITLE:Maintenance Operative

MAIN LOCATION:Primarily based at the West Midlands Learning Campus and its associated Herefordshire based sites.

RESPONSIBLE TO:Maintenance Team Leader

HOURS OF WORK/39 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.00 till 4.30 CONDITIONS: overtime single rate above 39hrs

By arrangement only, callouts extra

Salary 18 – 20k dependant on experience

HOLIDAY ENTITLEMENT:31 Days per annum including bank holidays

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

-To be responsible for the day to day repairs of the school as highlighted fromthe schools electronic job logging system.

-You will be requiredto assist with works as identified within our Property schedules which includes refurbishments and planned upgrades.

-You will beexpected to work as part of a team or alone with a very positive can do attitude.

-You will also be required to be part of an out of hours on call rota.

- The role involves working across a main campus and three smaller properties with the locality.

KEY TASKS:

  1. Ensuring that all areas are maintained to the highest standards and be responsible for carrying out work as allocated via electronic logging system for day to day reactive works.
  1. To carryout upgrades and proactive maintenance as identified within our maintenance schedules and as directed by the maintenance team leader.
  1. To carryout decoration and associated skills as required
  1. To have a good all round building skill, for example plastering, basic plumbing, joinery and good DIY skills
  1. To be responsible for ensuring that all routine checks and maintenance of appliances are kept in a safe and secure manner.
  1. Check primary services regularly to include gas, oil, sewagesystems, water and electric and reading of meters monthly to ensure that they are maintained, oversee deliveries and to be responsible for relevant ordering - subject to approval.
  1. To maintain tools and equipment in safe clean working order, keeping them secure at all times
  1. To contribute to an “on – call” rota in order to maintain work and excellent health and safety standards
  1. To understand and comply with health and safety legislation.
  1. To work as part of a team to take responsibility for the overall maintenance of the sites and to ensure that they are maintained in a good respectable order
  1. To be responsible for the Fire recording and checking for the maintenance areas
  1. As with all SENAD staff, take joint responsibility for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, adhering to all safeguarding policies.
  1. To carry out all other duties as may be reasonably required of a maintenance operative.
