What do I get with my Birthday Party?

  • Exclusive 2. 5 hour use of the Activity Room
  • Room available 15min prior to party for birthday family to arrive
  • 90min of facilitated activities by Museum Host

  • Dino dig time and 3-D dinosaur puzzle building

  • Each child gets:
  • Make and take crafts including plaster fossils
  • Helium balloon
  • Admission to the galleries for your guests
  • Party invitations for your guests

What do I need to bring?

  • Cake, candles, matches, cake cutter, utensils, napkins, plates, cups, tablecloths, drinks, decorations, and lolly bags.
  • No kitchen is available, but sinks are available in the room.

  • Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30am - 4:30pm
  • Weekdays from 2:00-4:30pm
  • Dates are subject to availability

What is the cost of a Museum birthday party?

  • $200 includes up to 10 children and 2 adults
  • $10 / additional child
  • Additional adults must purchase entry ticket

Museum Members:receive 2 additional children free of charge (12 for the price of 10)

IMPORTANT: Reservations and a signed contract are required for a birthday party. A 50% deposit is required prior to the party. The balance is due the day of the party. Payment can be made over the phone or at the Museum’s front desk.

How many children can we invite?

We can accommodate up to 25 children in the exhibition and activity space. If you expect to have more than 25 children please speak to our Education Officer prior to booking. Party activities are best suited to children aged 5-12; however, we are happy to cater to children younger or older if requested.

Terms and Conditions

To ensure the safety of your party guests and the Museum’s artifacts and gallery spaces, the following terms and conditions must be agreed to and followed by all birthday party guests, children and adults:

  • Birthday Parties at the Museum are subject to availability and at the discretion of the Education and Public Programs Officer.
  • A 50% deposit is required to secure the party reservation. The balance of the party fee is due the day of the event.
  • The Museum is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.
  • It is the responsibility of adult chaperones to control children to ensure their safety, the safety of other Museum visitors, and the safety of the Museum artifacts.
  • The host family may set-up decorations, etc 15min prior to the scheduled party time. Decorations must be simple and may only be affixed to activity room walls with the prior permission of Museum staff. Balloons and lolly bags are to remain in the activity room and are not allowed in the galleries at any time.
  • The host family is responsible for bringing their own food, drink, candles, matches, cake cutter, napkins, plates, cups, and decorations.
  • All food (including candy and gum) and beverages must remain in the activity room. They cannot be consumed in any of the gallery spaces.
  • Museum staff are responsible for the clean-up of the activity room only. It is the host family’s responsibility to clean up any food, drink, and decorations within 15min of the conclusion of the party.
  • Guests will only be invited for the 2-hour time slot scheduled for the party.
  • All costs for damage of any of the National Wool Museum’s equipment, artifacts, exhibits or the physical space being used are the responsibility of the user and are payable on demand.
