Biomes Project Check List Due: October 29th

FRONT OF PAPER:

LAND BIOME COLLAGE

Get pictures from magazines and the Internet. FIRST, have your graph, map, and ALL of your pictures ready, and THEN arrange and glue them on your large white paper. You must include the following information:

Colorful TITLE.

CLIMATOGRAM. Cut out the climograph from your direction sheet. Graph the temperature and the rainfall.

  • Use a bar graph for the rainfall.
  • Use a line graph for the temperature.
  • Make a KEY. Use two different COLORS.

WORLD MAP. Color the map to show where your biome is located. Use page 526 in your book.

  • Cut out and color the map on your direction page.

  • Use the map below. Color it and cut it out.

TYPE OF SOIL: Describe the type of soil in this biome. You can include a picture or even some actual soil.

PLANTS: Draw or cut out pictures of TWO plants in your biome. Label the plants when you glue the pictures on the collage.

PLANT ADAPTATIONS: Have TWO pictures that show TWO ways that plants have adapted to live in this biome. Describe the adaptations on your collage when you glue on your pictures.

ANIMALS: Draw or cut out pictures of TWO ANIMALS in your biome. Label the animals when you glue the pictures on the collage.

ANIMAL ADAPTATIONS: Have TWO pictures that show TWO ways that animals have adapted to live in this biome. Describe the adaptations on your collage when you glue on your pictures.

MARINE BIOME: Look at pages 536-539 to help with this section.

This work will go on the right side of your paper.

TITLE: Write Zones of the Marine Biome on your paper. (See the title on the direction sheet.)

Draw the OUTLINE like the one on your direction sheet. ( Hint: Turn our direction paper sideways. It is easier to copy the line.)

MARINE ZONES: Draw lines to show the FOUR zones. (Hint: Look at the lines on your direction sheet.) Write the names of the four zones on your paper.

PLANTS and ANIMALS: Draw AND color the marine plants and animals in the correct zone. (See the list on your direction sheet. Remember to add thermal vents, glowing fish, whales and squids) LABEL the plants and animals, too.

BACK of PAPER: Use pages 5-38-542.

Ponds and Lakes WORD SPLASH: Use SIX descriptive terms. Be colorful.
