TO ALL STUDENTS AND PARENTS AND/OR GUARDIANS IN MS. SILVEIRA’S AP ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE CLASS:
I have read the APES class Syllabus. I understand and agree to abide by all instructions set forth in the included documents.
I understand that I must maintain my Notebook as required, I must bring my Notebook to class every day, and I must do the required work for my class. Adhering to these requirements will enable me to achieve success in my science class.
I understand that I must follow all expectations established. I understand that taking this course means an intention to pass a college-level exam at the end of the year. I understand the importance of using resources made available to me in class and online. I will use these resources.
I understand that I will be on time to class; tardies will not be tolerated and that the school tardy policy will take place if I am tardy.
I understand that if I am absent it is my responsibility to make up all missed assignments in the required time frame. I understand that I will only be able to make up work is my absence has been evaluated as excused by the main office and I present Ms. Silveira with an admit to class. I understand that all assignments are listed on the class website and have been acquainted with how to use this resource.
I understand that in order to be successful I should work hard, ask questions and not cheat. I have read the school’s Academic Integrity Policy and understand that if I am caught cheating all parties involved will be subject to the consequences listed in that document.
I understand that I should be fully engaged during class not to use any electronic device during class unless specified by my teacher. If I am caught it will be confiscated.

I have read and discussed the APES Syllabus requirement as well as the Notebook requirement, tardy and absent procedures, cheating policy and electronic device policy with my child and agree to check my child’s Notebook on a weekly basis. I understand that the parent portal has been made available to me to allow me to closely monitor my child’s progress and I will utilize this tool regularly throughout the school year.
