Biographical Sketch on Imam Siddeeq Jihad

Imam Siddeeq Jihad has been a part of the Muslim community, since September, 1973. He has studied Qur’aanic Arabic, since 1978. Rowland Saafir of Detroit, Michigan was his first regular teacher. Imam Jihad feels a great sense of appreciation and thanks to Allah, Prophet Muhammad, upon him be peace, his mother, Annie Hill-Zeigler (a mother of 10 children), his father, Vertis R. Zeigler, (a Harlem Globetrotter 1944-1949) Imam Warith Deen Mohammad, Rowland Saafir, Dr. Abdul-Munim Shakir, his deceased Arabic study companion, Abdul-Qayyoom Kamal Muhammad, Sheikh Ali Suleiman Ali and others for inspiring him to continue his studies.

From the aforementioned inspiration, he went on to take Arabic 101, 102, 201 & 202, which were taught by the demanding, native Egyptian, Dr. Abdul-Munim Shakir of Wayne County Community College in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Shakir returned to Allah in 2006. He prays that Allah grant Dr. Shakir a high place in paradise for his noble work.

Since the completion of the Arabic Courses at Wayne County Community College he has continued to study Qur’aanic Arabic and apply the knowledge to the study of Al-Qur’aan.

Imam Siddeeq Jihad has done Arabic Seminars at Islamic National Conventions, ISNA educational conferences and cities around the country since 1992.

He specializes in doing weekend seminars throughout the country.

He has done Arabic presentations and/or lectures in over 50 U.S.A cities. BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

OF IMAM WILLIAM BILAL

Imam William Bilal first came in contact with Al-Islam in 1973 in Detroit.

His first contact with Arabic was in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Arabic classes taught by Imam W. Deen Mohammed.

In 1981, he commenced to study Arabic with Rowland Saafir of Detroit, Michigan and thereafter with Imam Siddeeq Jihad, also of Detroit, Michigan. In addition, he has had Arabic learning sessions with Dr. Abdul-Hakim Jackson of the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor at the ISNA complex in Plainfield, Indiana and sessions with Dr. Hussein Abdul-Quddus of Chicago, Illinois.

William Bilal has applied his Arabic studies to the study of Al-Qur’aan. He has engaged in countless hours of personal study and research of Al-Qur’aan and other literature relative to Al-Islam.

Currently, he is the Imam/Director of the Center For Human Progress in Chicago, Illinois. He also serves as the Vice President of QADARA (Qur’aanic Arabic Development And Research Association). Imam Bilal travels around America along with Imam Jihad, conducting weekend Qur’aanic Arabic seminars and delivering khutbahs/ta’leem lectures. Among the cities he has conducted workshops in are: Akron, Ohio, Cleveland, Ohio, Springfield, Ohio, Toledo, Ohio, Gary, Indiana, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Michigan City,. BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH ON SHAMSUDDIN WAHEED

Shamsuddin Waheed has been active in the Muslim community for much of his life. His father, the late Taalib-Din Waheed, inoculated into him at a young age, a deep religious curiosity and interest Al-Islam. Consequently, he has been devoted to the Islamic study, practices and the spread of Al-Islam.

He has engaged in advanced Arabic training, which included literature, syntax, grammar, and more at the Cairo Institute for Arabic Language Sciences in Nasr City, Egypt.

Shamsuddin Waheed is fluent in Arabic and has on occasions, served as an interpreter of Arabic into English. He has made a conscious effort to interact with people of all ethnic groups to understand their Arabic dialectical differences as well as cultural differences. One of his passions is assisting Muslims in coming together as one united community.

Shamsuddin Waheed has traveled to Mecca, Medina, Malaysia and many U. S. cities.

He has have a very strong love of Allah, Al-Islam, the Qur'aan and its’ exegesis.

In addition, Shamsuddin is well-versed in other religious traditions and history especially the Judeo-Christian tradition.

Shamsuddin has been active in Inter-Faith understanding and relationships, giving presentations in Churches, study groups, and other similar venues.
Shamsuddin has been active in spreading Islamic knowledge and insight, delivering lectures in Mosques (masaajid) throughout the United States as well as conducting Arabic Seminars in Cleveland, Ohio, Philadelphia, Pa., Richmond, Va., Detroit, Michigan and other venues.

He served as an Imam at the Al-Warith-Deen Islamic Center and Outreach Services of Cleveland, Ohio from 2005 to late 2007, facilitating activities as well as managing a halal meat market. He is now an Imam at the Toledo Masjid of Al-Islam

He has authored: An Introduction to the Qur’aan, Islam The Timeless Religion and numerous articles that have been published in Muslim Monitor, The Muslim Observer, The Muslim Journal, and a host of other internet publications and newspapers.

He is also an invited member of the Da’wah forum, which is an integral part of the web forum, Why Islam, a subsidiary of the Islamic Circle of North America [ICNA].
