Dear friends of the BHS, Binocular Collectors, Persons Interested in Optics.
Next year we will continue our tradition and organize our biannual meeting of the BHS and fellow binocular collectors.
During many successful and interesting meetings in prior years we have been lucky to have generous sponsors who either supported us financially or provided us with meeting rooms in their headquarters or museums free of charge. In addition they generously provided us with coffee, beverages, snacks and lunch during the breaks.
For our next meeting we will not be sponsored by the optical industry so this is why we gladly accepted the proposal of our fellow collector Martin Soerensen from Munich to organize the next meeting in 2017 in Munich at the Hotel Hilton Munich City. The meeting will take place from October 6 – 8, 2017.
Martin is a member of the management board of the hotel and made us a very interesting offer. It contains:
- Rental of the meeting rooms (1 lecture room and 1 lockable exhibition room for display and trade optics)
- Two group dinners on Friday and Saturday evening without beverages
- Full-day coffee and tea station during breaks on Saturday and Sunday
- Lunch sandwiches and soft drinks on Saturday noon and Sunday noon
The meeting fees are dependent on the number of participants. They do not apply for accompanying persons who do not participate in the meeting. In case accompanying persons join the group dinners the cost per person is € 30.00 per dinner without beverages.
In case only 25 individuals participate the fee for the above services is € 195.00 per person; 50 individuals attending € 160.00 per person and 75 and more individuals attending € 150.00 per person.
For all participants who want to stay overnight in the hotel Martin has offered us a special price of € 129.00 for double and single rooms per night including breakfast.
This offer is valid until January 10, 2017.
At prior meetings we were able accept non-binding commitments but for this meeting it is important for the organizers and the hotel to receive binding promises for your meeting attendance and room reservations by January 10, 2017. After this date the offer no longer can be maintained.
As the meetings fees are dependent on the number of participants we ask you to send us the following statement before January 10, 2017.
