Big night for Initiative and IPG Mediabrands at the Festival of Media LatAm Awards 2017

Miami, Monday 30 October 2017 - Hosted at the Turnberry Isle in Miami the winners for the Festival of Media LatAm Awards were revealed this evening. 56 trophies were given out at the ‘Dance of the Dead’ awards show.

Initiativedominated proceedings winning 17 out of the 22 categories as well the prestigious Network of the Year Grand Prix, while its parent company IPG Mediabrands won Media Group of the Year.

It was a hotly contested process with Initiative Argentinajust doing enough to hold off the competition to win Agency of the Year, while MediaCom Mexico scooped up six trophies in total and Initiative Mexico took home five awards.

The other big winner of the prestigious Grand Prix gongs was MediaCom, who took home the coveted Campaign of the Year Award for their campaign ‘Hotel of Legends’ alongside five other trophies.

Proving its regional appeal the awards saw winners from 11 countries, with Mexico leading the way with 13 wins, followed by Colombia (8) with the US and Argentina tying for third with seven trophies each and Brazil in fourth with six trophies.

The final jury was chaired byDaniela Cachich, Marketing Vice-President for PepsiCo Brazil who said: “It was an honour to be the chair of this year’s Festival of Media LatAmAwards. The work has been very inspiring and of a high standardand the jury had very rich and interesting discussions to find the best work of the region.”

The Festival of Media LatAm Awards is dedicated to the evolution of media, celebrating the best in media thinking and communications across the region. Judged by an innovative, respected and diverse panel regional brand marketers and industry experts, the programme is a prestigious event rewarding the very best work.
