□The Epistles of Paul
New Testament SurveyBi-106
January 4th–March 29th
Class meets in the fellowship hall and is led by: DeWayne Bolin
Our goal is to gain a knowledge of the historical background necessary for a proper understanding of these wonderful letters. The Apostle Paul played a vital part in the establishment of the Church and its theology and his writings make up almost one-fourth of the New Testament. While this class is not a verse-by-verse exposition of his epistles it will aid the student’s efforts in understanding the meaning of this portion of the New Testament. It covers the usual points of introduction, such as the author, the recipients of the letter, the occasion, the place, the purpose, etc., which are presented in a non-technical manner. While the teacher will be following his out of printtextbook: An Introduction to the New Testament by: Carson, Moo, and Morris, one is not required for this class. You can benefit just by attending the class sessions, reading the assigned biblical passages and taking notes.
There is no charge for the course and we are hoping to provide a nursery for those with small children. For more information see our syllabus and brochure.
