Boot camp Overview

The Oracle Business Intelligence Applications Boot Camp introduces you to the fundamental concepts, techniques and architecture of Oracle Business Intelligence Applications. Join this training to understand the components of Oracle BI Applications, learn how you can easily implement Oracle BI Applications for Siebel, customize Oracle BI Applications and integrate it with Siebel.

Audience

This course is intended for individuals with functional knowledge of Siebel or technical expertise in Data warehousing / Business Intelligence.

Prerequisite Knowledge / Skills

To ensure a valuable learning experience, the participants must possess the following skill sets

Technical Audience:

·  Good understanding of basic data warehousing concepts

·  Hands on experience in Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition

·  Hands on experience in Informatica

Functional Audience:

Good understanding of any of Siebel modules

Boot camp Objectives

Upon successful completion of this boot camp, participants should be able to:

·  Understand all the components of Oracle BI Applications

·  Configure Oracle BI Applications for Siebel

·  Customize Oracle BI Applications to suit the customizations in Siebel

Labs

To successfully complete the boot camp, participants will have to complete:

·  Lab 1 - Setting up the Lab Environment and Installation of Clients

·  Lab 2 - OBIEE Ad Hoc Reports

·  Lab 3 - Oracle BI Applications Sales and Service Analytics Overview

·  Lab 4 - Customizing Oracle BI Applications

·  Lab 5 - Configuring Oracle BI Applications Security

Lab Environment Preparation

Lab environment preparation refers to steps that must be completed ahead of the boot camp delivery to provide the necessary infrastructure to support the boot camp labs. For this boot camp, labs are conducted on hosted virtual machine images running on a remote server.

Lab environment preparation consists of:

·  Distributing IP Addresses of hosted images and Array SLLs credentials to students. This information will be provided by Oracle to the instructor.

Instructor Preparation

Instructor preparation consists of learning the material to be delivered how it should be delivered and building and being in possession of the necessary on site materials to support the class.

Knowledge

Instructor knowledge of the subject area and detailed familiarity with the course material are among the most important factors in successful boot camp delivery. Knowledge of the subject area should be covered by appropriate instructor selection, but it is up to the individual instructor to adequately prepare to deliver the material. Accordingly, prior to class, each instructor should:

1.  Instructor has to go through the Additional Information provided in the training package to deliver the best of the knowledge.

2.  Carefully go though all presentations, lab manuals and assessment. It is strongly recommended that an instructor plan to augment the material with real world examples reflecting his/her experience. This can stimulate great conversations and adds significantly to the value of the class.

3.  Work through all lab manuals.

Materials

In the case of most deliveries, the instructor serves as the primary (if not sole) source of logistical support for students. Accordingly, in addition to learning the material as described above, the instructor should:

1.  Have all necessary printed material that is to be distributed to students. Instructor need to distribute the lab manual for each day and also the presentations if he/she feel so.

2.  Have all necessary electronic material that is to be distributed to students.
