Note:
All Parsi from Ahmedabad must apply. If you are staying outside but ancestors or parents from Ahmedabad than also try.
They will give their application form. Please do follow up. They take long time in replying. They give in the range of 25000 – 100000. They mostly give interest free loan only.
1) Collect application form from the Panchayat office and send the necessary documents with the application form.
2) Once the amount has been sanctioned. They will get the papers prepared.
3) They require post dated cheques and guarantors details and signature along with your signature
4) If student is below 18 the loan is given in the name of the parent.
5) The post dated cheques should be given from the students savings account or joint savings account with the student. / Bombay Parsi Panchayat

Note:
Higher education Committee has lots of funds but apply early. Apply before March/April and if you are late best thing to do is go personally to Mumbai to the BPP office and make an application. They generally give close to 1lac half grant and half loan. If you are late than BPP will give from their funds. They take a
long time in replying back. So please apply early. All Parsis from any city must and must apply.
Procedure:
1) Call Yezdi Mowdawala and ask about application form. Better is to go to the Panchayat office as if you are from outstation he will prepare the application sheet in front of you.
2) Give or send all the required documents to the Panchayat along with the application form.
3) Keep doing follow up and keep going to Panchayat office off and on so that they remember you. If from outstation do go and meet whenever in Mumbai.
4) Once the amount is sanctioned required papers will be given for your signature. Your guarantors signature will also be required but not necessary for the guarantor to be present in person. Guarantor has to be earning and residing in Mumbai.
5) Post dated cheques of the given loan amount will have to be given. They would want the loan to be over within 10-12 months. The grace period of two-three years will be given i.e. after your course gets over they will give you one more year after which they will start depositing the post dated cheques.
6) LIC (endowment) Policy of the loan given will be required. The student will have to get it assigned to the Panchayat.There is no need to transfer the policy to Mumbai.

LOAN Scholarship With 2% Interest sometimes
Application deadline: 31st May for getting application form They review the application in July. So even if deadline is over do apply or call. If its before July they might send an application form. It is a very big fund so definitely apply, it gives good loan (in the range of 1,00,000 to 3,00,000). Please follow up as if student is staying out of station they might not be able to call and inform.
Procedure:
1) Send an application letter along with Rs. 50 and a self addressed stamped envelope. Signatures needed on the form- of a guarantor from Mumbai a male who is working and earning more than Rs. 15,000. 2 references are required again only from Mumbai. The references maybe Parsi or Non-Parsi.
2) Once the amount is sanctioned, they will call you to take the agreement and get franking done after which the student and the guarantor’s signatures are required.
3) Requires Insurance Policy (endowment policy only) of the amt of loan taken. Taken from TATA AIG but if you are staying out of station they will consider LIC (Plan 14 for 20 years)as well. Once the policy is taken get it transferred to Mumbai and than the assignment questionnaire which LIC agent gives has to be filled and stamped by R D Sethna and go and give it to the Insurance Office and than they will send it to R D Sethna.
4) Give the acknowledgement to R D Sethna of the LIC and than finally the student will receive the cheque.
5) They will give 2/3 rd amount once all formalities are over and 1/3rd amount after 6 months depending on your progress.
6) Before leaving when you purchase the foreign exchange you will have to send them a copy of the slip. As soon as you reach your University you will have to send them a joining letter copy and after six months your progress report and a letter requesting to send you the remaining amount.
7) There is a condition if you pay the full loan amount within 2-3 years after taking it you will not be charged any interest.

Note:
MUST APPLY. But before hand. They give Loan & Gift Scholarship. Please note even if you have not received any reply from any Universities or are going to apply or have applied than also call for an application form. Total maximum amount they give is Rs. 5,00,000 and minimum at least 25k – 50k Sometimes the gift is in terms of the airline ticket.
Procedure:
1) Send Rs. 100 by money order or DD and write an application letter for getting the application form.
2) Along with other necessary documents they also require a Statement of Purpose, CV and one recommendation letter from professor or employer written especially for scholarship. 2 references from your own city and their address proof. Referees can also be Non-Parsis. Also requires pan card details of parents and student if working and address proof.
3) If your application gets shortlisted you will be called for a personal interview with an expert in the field you are going for.
4)If you are successful you will have to go to Mumbai again with your guarantor for signing the agreement papers. The guarantor can be preferably one of your parent.
5) They require an Insurance policy of the amount of

No need to send hard copy. Just write a mail to Mr Homyar at . He will send the application form which one can fill up and scan along with all the certificates and required documents and send by email. There is no deadline. They give loan only. They will send a demand draft to the student’s home address abroad in the name of the University. They will give loan in the countries currency which you can directly submit to the University/College.
When the amount will be sanctioned an email will be received which will ask for Student ID, University Name (In whose name the demand draft has to be made) and student home add abroad. They would like to be kept in touch and would like to know of your progress on regular basis.

Procedure:
1) Write and application letter
2) If you apply before deadline than ask for application form.
3) If not than write application letter, send all documents and fill in all details on A4 sheet in the format of an application form. Also send CV with other documents.
4) If they sanction the amount you will receive the sanction letter which will ask for some documents after which in 15 days time you shall receive the cheque.
5) They require the foreign exchange purchase slip you can send it later when you buy foreign exchange and can mention it your letter that you will send it later.
6) They would like that the student informs about the progress.

Procedure:
1) Write an application letter and send all the documents copy’s like offer letter from University, all marksheets, certificates, family contribution, trusts you have applied to, salary certificate of self if working and of parents. Make a summary i.e. put all on A4 sheet like an application form. Whatever copies you enclose mention it in the application letter.
2) As soon as he receives your application he will give you a call and tell you to come and meet him whenever you in Mumbai. Please give him importance he should not feel that he is taken for granted or that his fund is not important. He does not appreciate that you say you came for this fund or that fund. Just say you had work and have to come to Mumbai so you will club all together.
3) Listen to his instructions carefully and follow them properly.
4) If he wants to give you will directly receive a cheque after you have met him. You will have to send the receipt of cheque received.

Gives only loan in the range of Rs. 25,000 to 1,00,000. Gives for higher education, helps poor for their upliftment. No deadline. They will let you know their decision and you will not require to do any follow up.
Procedure:

  • You will have to send an SOP along with CV a reference from your professor (you can put the one you put for your University) and other necessary documents
  • Once you submit your application form within a months time you will receive a reply.
  • You will have to give post dated cheques and have to pay back the loan in 20-25 instalments. You will get one year as grace period after course gets over.
  • They might ask for an insurance policy for the amount of loan given.
  • Along with your signature your guarantor’s signature is also required on the given documents as formality. Guarantor can be anyone except parents.
  • Once you complete all formalities and submit it to Ms. Davar you shall receive the cheque within a weeks time.
