BEVERLY AIRPORT GOOD NEIGHBOR POLICY
OUR GOALS
- To be a responsible member of the community and be committed to minimizing the effects of aircraft noise on surrounding neighborhoods
- To foster a good working relationship with officials, citizens and neighbors and provide an understanding of the airport and the aircraft that visit
- Maintain an up-to-date Noise Abatement Program and Good Neighbor Policy
- Inform, advise and invite neighbors and officials (including police and fire officials) of any planned air show, aviation day or open house
- Maintain a standard complaint form that will be available on our website or by contacting the Airport Manager at 978-921-6072
- Complaints will be handled in the following manner:
- Airport Manager will communicate with the complainant by phone, in person or by e-mail.
- Airport Manager will then send a written notice to the owner/operator of the aircraft explaining any violation.
- If dissatisfied with the above, the Airport Manager will send the complaint to FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO), and MassDOT/Aeronautics Division.
- Airport Manager will keep a record of complaints on file.
- Complaints will not be acted upon unless the Airport Manager receives a completed complaint form.
- Beverly Airport will review the Airport Security Plan annually and update it if necessary with police and fire officials from Beverly, Danvers and Wenham to maintain a level of security that meets or exceeds FAA and MassDOT/Aeronautics Division requirements. The review will include but not be limited to the following:
- Gates and facilities locked and secured
- Inspection of security fencing
- Issuing security badges
- General field inspections by airport management and staff
- Recommend local police perform random patrols when possible
- Require GA aircraft owners to lock and secure aircraft
- Airport Manager, when qualified, will perform CORI checks as needed
- Beverly Airport will insure all tenants and operators comply with all local, state and federal rules and regulations pertaining to airport safety and security.
- Beverly Airport will recommend pilots continue to use the pilot training area over Plum Island Sound for local flight training.

- Beverly Airport Commission will maintain a standing committee consisting of two commission members from Danvers and the Airport Commission Chairman. Their responsibility will be to meet with neighbors and officials on a regular schedule regarding the concerns of airport neighbors and general updates of airport activity.
- Beverly Airport Management will inform pilots and flight schools that Beverly Airport neighbors are especially sensitive to touch and go’s on nights, weekends and holidays.
