Members Present: Alani Rabaino, Sherri Ruggiero, Rielly Boyd, Garrison Garcia, Sunday Rogers (by telephone), Dr. Richards, and Dr. Bull
§ New Members/ Committee Members
o New members were welcomed
- Distance Liaison North Valley: Sunday Rogers
- M.A. Counseling: Garrison Garcia
- Attending (non-member) Rielly Boyd
o Monitoring new and active members
- Dr. Richards is monitoring new members through CSI website
- Ms. Donohue will look into currently active members through CSI website
o Plans for next year
- Leadership roles will need to be filled next year, please be considering involvement at this level, recruiting members etc
§ Spring Training: Melody Hicks on Motivational Interviewing
o Friday, April 11th 12:30-4pm (including lunch)
o Logistics
- Please see sign-up sheet for duties pertaining to this event (Alani)
- Flier will be produced and circulated soon
- Representatives, plan to announce the event in classes/to cohort to raise awareness
- Discussion about food preferences and cost for the event, Dr. Bull will research and make a (cost conscious) executive decision
o Distance programs to participation
- Discussion about Skype, ooVoo, etc, Dr. Richards will research
§ CSI Grant Poster Presentation
o CSI members will be presenting a poster at upcoming Compassion Conference on campus
o On behalf of presenters, Dr. Richards requested funding for the costs of the poster production
- A motion to approve funding was made by Ms. Rabaino, a move to pass by Ms. Ruggiero and seconded by Mr. Garcia. The vote was unanimous in favor of funding the poster for a sum of $40 to be paid directly to the department producing the poster.
- The poster will include CSI and BA’s name and/or logo
§ Initiation/Graduation Event
o A date has been set for the traditional welcoming of new members and recognition of graduating members
§ May 2nd, 2014 – time is forthcoming
§ Location- Regent’s Library and two side rooms
§ Regalia- discussion over what is appropriate for, expected and desired by graduating members, taking into consideration costs and amounts
· Certificates- Ms. Donohue needs to check on when certificates will be sent by CSI, Dr. Bull will follow up on this
· Graduating members/Ordering medallions- to be discussed further
o How many needed?
o Should members purchase these themselves?
o Should a community member be honored for their impact on graduating members?
§ REBT Training Possibility for Fall 2014
o Mr. DiCarlo has made a connection through the Ellis Institute with an REBT trainer based on Tucson. This could be a great training event to host in the fall.
o This training would cost $1,500 to host. To subsidize the cost, it was suggested to seek Stack funding and to inviting members of the community and across campus (SBS) to the training, while giving Ed. Psych students first priority on registration
§ Other Items?
o An email needs to be sent out to confirm members who will be graduating
o Ms. Donohue will contact CSI to confirm our expected reimbursement from CSI membership
§ Next Meeting: Thursday, April 3rd at 1pm in Regent’s Library
