In my friendships and relationships with others I expect to be treated with respect which means other people will:

  • Let me feel ok about who I am and what I like doing
  • Be able to admit when they are wrong and not make fun of me or make me feel bad when I am wrong
  • Talk honestly when we disagree and be prepared to compromise
  • Make me feel safe not scared, uncomfortable or anxious
  • Respect my feelings, opinions, friends and not make fun of these
  • Accept I might not want to do the same things as them and not sulk or threaten me or make me feel bad about it
  • Accept that I might change my mind about things
  • Not try to get me to do things I don’t want to do by making me feel scared or guilty or stupid

In my friendships I expect respect which means other people will:

  • Like me for who I am
  • Not make fun of me
  • Make me feel safe
  • Talk to me if we fall out
  • Understand if I don’t want to play the same things as them
  • Respect my feelings, my friends and my family and not make fun of them
