Bellview Elementary PTO Meeting

November 12th, 2014

Present: Kari Robertson, Zeph Robertson, Amy Goins, Ingrid Hansen, Renee Gardner, Kristin Nagy Catz, Katy Repp, Christine McCollom, Charmaine Carnes, Cristin Henderson, Tachi Dodera, Sebastian Fierro, Nicole Hill, Carolyn Moeglein, Heather Loring, Sarah Metlen, Kerry Metlen, Rebecca Gyarmathy, Chelsea Gilmore, and Sierra Faulkner

1.  Introduction of Board members

Introduced teacher reps, Ms McCollom, and the PTO board

2.  Reading and approval of last PTO Meeting minutes (Kristin)

Kristin read and had the minutes approved unanimously

3.  Budget (Carolyn):

a.  Summary, highlighting how Jogathon and Carnival turned out.

b.  Purchase of a class set of Ipads.

Carolyn went over the excess funds that we have raised this year.

Kristin moved to purchase another pack of ipads, Heather seconded, and the motion was unanimously approved. We will purchase an additional set of ipads.

4.  Propose to use PTO funds to purchase pizzas for Math and Literacy night to offset the extra Title One money used for Back-to-School BBQ--no more than $300 (Christine)

Ms McCollom asked that PTO would cover the cost of the pizzas for math and literacy night due to the increased cost of the back-to-school BBQ. She asked that we approved up to $200 on pizza to fund the pizzas. The motion passed unanimously

5.  School garden, Rogue Farm to School, and PTO involvement (Rebecca, Chelsea, and Sierra)

Rebecca went over the history of the Bellview garden. She is interested in increasing the participation in the garden. They want to do a mosaic project that they will need donations for in the upcoming months. They will ask for volunteers to do the project in January. Sierra from Rogue Valley Farm to School spoke about the movement.

6.  PTO Events: Update on Bobcat Benefit and Cookie Dough (Katy)

Katy Repp discussed the upcoming events. She talked about winter care boxes. The talent show is in February. She talked about the Bobcat benefit which will be held on March 7th.
