MINUTES OF THE BELL TOWER COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION'S
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
WEDNESDAY 25th MARCH 2015
Attendees: David Neale, Barbara Kendal, Rob Plinston, Jonathan Dart, Pat Short, Steve Bayle,
Richard Chandler, Rose Brannigan and nine other members.

Guest Speaker: Will Paice Caversham Court Garden
Will Paice gave a talk on the history of Caversham Court. He answered questions and passed around various information regarding the park.
The minutes of the 2014 AGM were accepted as presented.
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Another eventful and busy year:
Quiz Night in October: David thanked Barbara for organizing this event at the Crowne Plaza in October 2014. There was a large turnout for this event and another one is planned to take place in May 2015.
Newport Road Street Party: This event was held in June 2014 with an attendance of 150 people from the neighbourhood. Thanks to Andy at the Moderation for providing the food and entertainment. Thanks to the residents of Newport Road for all their help on the day. This years street party will be held on 6th June 2015.
Health Walks: This event will start up again on Tuesday 28th April 2015 meeting at the Crown on the Bridge in the afternoon at 2.30 pm.
Bench and Noticeboard Funding: David gave an update on the Noticeboard. Planning Application is awaiting to be approved for the noticeboard to be erected by Monmouth Court, Northfields Road. Plans are in place to replace the noticeboard by E P Collier School.
Big Skip Day: This event was held in August 2014. Another full load plus trading and exchanging. This years event is planned for Saturday 25th April 2015 between 12 – 3. Suggestions welcome on how to dispose of electrical items.
Congratulations to Bob Murrant on his win in the Reading In Bloom gardening competition.
David thanked all the committee members for their hard work and dedication during the year.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Rob Plinston was elected as Secretary. Proposed by Barbara Kendal and seconded by Mary Neale
Sandy Gill was elected as Treasurer. Proposed by Pat Short and seconded by Bob Murrant.
The other members of the committee: David Neale, Barbara Kendal, Rod Plinston, Jonathan Dart, Pat Short, Steve Bayle, Richard Chandler, Rose Brannigan were also all re-elected unopposed,
Treasurer's Report
Sandy Gill was absent from the meeting to comment on this years financial report.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Councillor Tony Page thanked everyone on the committee and reported progress on the train depot noise issue. He also said the Cox & Wyman site sale was likely to go through in early June and represented an opportunity to segregate the residential from the industrial parts of the area as well as put a stop to rat-running once the new Cow Lane bridges are in place.
