What is M.S. H.O.P.E?

At RadnorMiddle School the SAP team is referred to as M.S. HOPE. SAP is a state-mandated program developed to help you or your friends deal with concerns that are preventing success in school. Some concerns could be academic, behavioral, attendance or health focused.

Are you or a friend:

Having trouble keeping up your grades?

Not enjoying your favorite activities like you used to?

Being bullied or harassed?

Experimenting with or using alcohol or drugs?

Feeling emotionally overwhelmed?

Having thoughts or hurting yourself or others?

Dealing with major changes in your life?

Being hurt emotionally or physically by someone else?

Not getting along with others?

Dealing with the illness or death of someone close to you?

Adjusting to a new school?

What should I do next?

Speak to a member of the M.S. H.O.P.E. team or other school staff and fill out a referral form (not disciplinary). The forms are located at the guidance office, 2nd floor bridge and outside the cafeteria. Parents, school staff and students can make referrals. If you are worried about talking to your parents/guardians about your concerns, or about being involved in M.S. H.O.P.E., someone on the team can explain M.S. H.O.P.E to you and your parents/guardians. There are many adults in school who care about you and want to help.

How confidential is the process?

Confidentiality is important, therefore for every effort is made to respect the privacy of the student and family. Concerns discussed at M.S.H.O.P.E are not shared with all school staff.

What happens after I am in the program?

You, your parents/guardian, and the M.S. H.O.P.E. team will work together to figure out ways to help you deal with the concerns you are facing. This might include activities like support groups, working with a mentor or even getting extra homework help. The team can also help you and your parent/guardian find services in your community that can help.
