1.Prologue

Now you can work with Sage Pastel Evolution in your native language.

Evo Multilingual Pack for Sage Pastel Evolution is an add-on solution for Sage Pastel Evolution that automatically converts Sage Pastel Evolution in the language of your choice.

This solution can be extended to include the forms and reports designed specifically for you.

Evo Multilingual Packs are already available for several popular languages, and can be extended to include practically any language.

The Evo Multilingual Pack does not require any modification to your existing forms, reports or the functionalities.

2.Sage Pastel Evolution Version Support

This version of Evo Multilingual Packs for Sage Pastel Evolution supports the following versions of Sage Pastel Evolution:

3.Operating System Compatibility

Evo Multilingual Packs for Sage Pastel Evolutionsupports Sage Pastel Evolutioninstalled on the following operating systems:

▪Windows XP Professional SP2 and above

▪Windows Vista Home

▪Windows Vista Business

▪Windows 7 (Beta)

4.Regional and Language Settings

If you are using Windows XP, you need to configure your Windows to support additional languages. This is a simple task, and does not need any technical support. You will, however, may need the Windows installation CD for installation additional files required by this option.

This step is required to ensure that the Windows on your PC gets activated to support languages other than English.

This setting will generally not have any effect on your existing installation. However, it is advisable to create backup of your data before activating this option.

Note: If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, you don’t need to make any additional setting since these versions of Operating System have language support activated by default.

Activating additional language support:

Following steps show you how to configure Regional and Language Settings:

  1. Save all your files and close all running applications since PC restart will be required after completion of this step.
  2. Open “Control Panel” after clicking on “Start”.
  3. Select “Regional and Language Options”

  1. Select “Languages” tab by clicking on the title of the tab.You will see the following screen:

  1. Click on check box for -"Install for complex script and right-to-left languages (including Thai)". Alternatively you can click on “Install files for East Asian languages”, or both.
  2. Click on “OK” button. You may be prompted to insert the Windows XP installation CD for copying of additional files required by this option.
  3. Insert the Windows XP Installation CD in your CD Drive and proceed with installation.

Note:In case your PC does not have CD drive, you may select alternate location for Windows XP installation files.

  1. You will be prompted to restart Windows.
  2. The Language setting will become effective after you have restarted Windows.

5.Installation Pre-requisites

Please ensure that you are ready with the following before you start the installation for Evo Multilingual Packfor Sage Pastel Evolution:

  1. You have downloaded theEvo Multilingual Packfor Sage Pastel EvolutionInstaller application, and it is available on your PC.
  2. You are currently logged in as “Administrator” or as a user having “Administrator” rights on the PC.
  3. You have about 15-20 MB free disk space on the destination disk.
  4. You have write permission for the Windows directory
  5. You have write permission (folder and file creation) for the chosen destination drive letter (e.g. D:\).
  6. You have installed activated “Regional and Language Options” settings from the Control Panel (required only if your OS is Windows XP).

With above requirements fulfilled, you can start the installation for Evo Multilingual Pack for Sage Pastel Evolution.

6.Installing Evo Multilingual Packfor Sage Pastel Evolution

The following procedure need to be followed for the installation for Evo Multilingual Pack for Sage Pastel Evolution:

  1. Log in on your PC as “Administrator” or as a User having “Administrator” rights on the PC.If you are already logged in as other User, log off and then log in as "Administrator" or as a User having "Administrator rights on the PC
  2. Locate Evo Multilingual Pack for Sage Pastel Evolution installer file “Setup_EvolutionML.exe
  3. Start installation of Evo Multilingual Pack by double clicking on the Evo Multilingual Packinstaller file Setup_EvolutionML.exe.
  4. You will see the following screen:

  1. By default, the installer will prompt you with installation in folder “EvoML” inside the path of your “Program Files”. You can choose a path of your choice or let the installer carry out the installation in the suggested path. After providing appropriate path, click on “Next”.
  2. You will see the following screen.

  1. Installer will use “Evo Multilingual Pack” as the default group name. Though you can change it, it is advisable to continue with default name unless you really need to.
  2. Click on Next. Follow the instructions (keep clicking on Next unless you want to abort the installation). Allow the installation to complete. This process will take ½ to 1 minute.
  3. You should see the following screen if the installation is successful:

  1. Congratulations- you have successfully installed Evo Multilingual Packfor Sage Pastel Evolution.
  2. In case some error occurred during installation process, please take help of your system administrator. If problem persists, please contact our helpline.

7.UsingEvo Multilingual Pack

In order to use Sage Pastel Evolutionin language other than English, you need to start Evo Multilingual Pack for Sage Pastel Evolution. The process is as follows:

  1. Double click on the Evo Multilingual Pack icon on your desktop to start Evo Multilingual Pack.
  1. You can also start the Evo Multilingual Pack by selecting “Start->All Programs”, “EvoML” and clicking on “EvoML” as shown below:
  1. You will see the following Splash screen:

After this screen closes automatically, Evo Multilingual Pack will become active. This will be indicated by the tray icon of EvoML:

  1. LeftClick on this Tray icon to choose Language for the Sage Pastel Evolution:
  1. Click on “Target Language” to choose for the Sage Pastel Evolution.
  1. You can now use the Sage Pastel Evolutionin Portuguese!
  2. If you need to toggle back Sage Pastel Evolutionto English, click on the Tray Icon and choose “English” language.

7.1.1Remembering last selected language

  1. Select “Remember last selected language” and Click on Apply.
  2. Now whenever the Evo Multilingual Packis started (manually or automatically), the last selected language will be automatically selected.
  3. Uncheck this option to start with English as start up language.

7.1.2Using TextCollect option to collect text used by Sage Pastel Evolution

  1. Change the language to the selected language (e.g. to Portuguese or French).
  2. Select “TextCollect On”.
  1. Open and navigate various screens and reports of application from where you need to collect text or where unconverted text exists.
  2. After completing the navigation through all required screens and reports and completing task of text collection, stop text collection.
  3. Off text collection
  4. A file with name NewStrings.lstr will be created in “\Documents and Settings\userlogin\Local Settings\Application Data\EvoML\NewStrings”folder for Windows XP, if user uses Windows Vista or Windows 7 Users\userlogin\AppData\Local\EvoML\NewStrings.
  5. This file will contain all the unconverted text (which does not exist in the current dictionary).

7.1.3Creating Dictionary

  1. Send the Unconverted Words file for Dictionary Updating.
  2. For Evo Multilingual Pack, theDictionary File is UserDict-EN-PT.dictfor Portuguese or UserDict-EN-FR.dictfor Frenchstored in the folder “Users\userlogin\AppData\Local\EvoML\Dictionaries”for Windows Vista or Windows 7 users folder and for Windows XP users “\Documents and Settings\userlogin\Local Settings\Application Data\EvoML\Dictinaries.
  3. Update the dictionary with the file containing the old and the newly added text. Before you replace the dictionary file, do not forget to exit the Evo Multilingual Pack application.

7.1.4Reloading updated Dictionary

  1. After copying the updated dictionary file to the folder mentioned above, click “Reload Dictionary” from Evo Multilingual Pack Control Panel.
  1. The new Dictionary will now become effective.
  2. Start the Evo Multilingual Pack application.
  3. Now you should see the words converted into the target languages which were not converted earlier.

Note: You can edit existing dictionary if you want translation as per your choice.
