BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
IN THE MATTER OF: }
Ratify executed contract for a material purchase for } Resolution No. 17-______
the Pleasant Valley Road (Mineral) project, MP 3.45 }
WHEREAS, RCW 39.04.155 allows local governments to award contracts for construction and other improvements through established small works roster when such work has an estimated cost of three hundred thousand dollars or less; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 11-437 allows appointed department directors the authority to execute and bind Lewis County to contracts up to $150,000 when a project has already been authorized in the department’s budget; and
WHEREAS, Public Works has a need to purchase a precast concrete box culvert for the Pleasant Valley Road (Mineral) project, MP 3.45; and
WHEREAS, a request for quotes was sent to all contractors on our Small Works Roster in the Underground Utilities, Culverts and Box Culverts category and one quote was received on May 2, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Lewis County Public Works determined that Columbia Precast Products provided the low bid for the material purchase necessary for the Pleasant Valley Road (Mineral) project, MP 3.45 and a contract with Columbia Precast Products was executed by the Public Works Director.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the material purchase contract for a precast concrete box culvert previously executed by the Public Works Director with Columbia Precast Products in the amount of $135,746.58 including sales tax is hereby ratified by the Board of County Commissioners.
