BEAUPRE COMMUNITY HALL

The Beaupre district got its name from a prospector called Beaupre who lived in a cabin by the creek in days gone by. The historic one-room Beaupre Creek Schoolhouse, built in 1925, served as a multi-grade school until it closed in 1962. The Beaupre Community Association was then established and registered and in 1964 the old school was renovated and started serving as a gathering place for the community. It was used for many community functions until Halloween night in 2001 when arsonists burned the old schoolhouse / community hall to the ground. Fund raising started immediately to build a new community hall and, in March 2003, an Opening Ceremony was held for a brand new 3,100 sq. ft. building constructed on the six-acre site.

The Beaupre Community Association is headed by a group of 8 elected volunteers who serve on a Board
of Directors with a membership that includes people from the immediate and surrounding area. The Association hosts several annual events as well as ongoing weekly or monthly events, all organized and hosted by members. Participating and helping out at community events is an enjoyable and rewarding experience and members are welcome to come up with ideas for new events. Our younger members with small children are encouraged to host parties for the local children at Easter, Halloween and Christmas.

We welcome new members who would like to help preserve the spirit of community to join us. Enjoying the privilege of a Beaupre membership comes with the expectation that a member will help out from time to time by participating and getting involved in Hall functions. You must be a member in good standing for 2 years before member rental rates apply. Questions or want to volunteer ?
