Safety comes first at Pleasant Valley Feed Company. No job is too important not to do it safely. Employees have a duty to perform their duties in a safe manner and report unsafe conditions. Management is responsible for the development and implementation of safe work practices and procedures.

Pleasant Valley Feed Company will strive to achieve zero rail related accidents or incidents for 2012. We have had no rail related accidents or incidents during 2010 and 2011.

At Pleasant Valley Feed Company, Slim Shady the Terminal Manager is responsible for all aspects railway safety and this document. In addition, the Assistant Terminal Manager Tom Jones is responsible for rail safe work procedures and rail employee training at our site.

Section G:

Accident and Incident Reporting, Investigation and Analysis

At Pleasant Valley Feed Company the Terminal Manager conducts investigations into any rail accidents or incidents. The accident will be reported to BCSA via their 24 hour phone number 1 866 566 7233 and completing their Accident - Incident Report form. CN will be advised of the car has derailed or sustained any damage. After the accident has been investigated, corrective actions are discussed and implemented to prevent any reoccurrence.

Skills, Training and Supervision

Pleasant Valley Feed Company has one rail position at its rail siding in Pleasant Valley. The loading operator is responsible for spotting rail cars under the silo with a front end loader. This position is trained in Pleasant Valley Feed Company’s Safe Work Procedures and the applicable Canadian Rail Operating Rules listed in the Appendix. Contractors and visitors accessing our site are given a safety orientation.
