BCM Sound Settings

BCM Sound settings

These settings allow you to:

  1. Hear the phone ringing via your PC (in case you don’t have your headset on)
  2. But to answer the call using your headset (ear and mouth piece) in both BCM and CRM
  3. Listen to your voicemails

Note: Ensure that your headset is plugged in to the first USB port (closest to the power button)

·  Right click on your speaker icon (bottom right of PC screen on task bar) and select ‘Playback Devices’

·  Click on the headset and then on the ‘set default’ button.

Note: If you have multiple devices listed, or this doesn’t look as you’d expect -please consult BCM super-users within your team as these may impact your audio performance.

·  Then go to your BCM screen, select ‘Tools’ and ‘Settings’

·  Select ‘phone’ and ‘Audio’ and ensure that

o  Your Audio option is set to the Headset Earphone (with the name of the headset currently GN2000 USB)

o  Your microphone is set to the Headset Microphone (again with the model of headset)

o  Your ringing tone is set to ‘Speakers (Realtek)’ OR ‘Speakers High Definition Audio’ NOT PC speakers.

All sounds apart from your phone ring should now come via your headset. You can manage this further via the volume mixer.

Volume Mixer

When you click on the speaker at the bottom right of your PC screen you should see play back device/s (sometimes it will show both, or one, don’t worry)

You will notice a ‘mixer’ option at the base of the audio device, this allows you to further manage the sounds.

·  Click on mixer (use the drop down in ‘Device’ to switch between headset/speakers.

·  You should have turned up the device volume and ‘activex...’ volume.

·  You can mute others so that you don’t get other system sounds in your headset (e.g. outlook reminders, SAP sounds etc._ by clicking on the blue speaker image

·  The scroll bar will show you other applications you have with sounds

You can see what comes through each type of volume as when the sound is active as the bar turns green.
