Zone 3, 4, 5 Wheelchair Basketball Team Try-out Camp
Date: Saturday, September 22, 2007
Time: 12:00 – 5:00pm
Cost: $10.00
Location: Douglas College Gymnasium
700 Royal Ave., New Westminster (enter off 7th Ave.)
Wheelchair Basketball will take part in the BC Winter Games to be held February 21-24th, 2008 in Kimberley-Cranbrook, BC. This event is an excellent sport opportunity for our junior athletes to participate in a large multi-sport event for youth in BC.
Athlete Eligibility:
è Athletes must turn 13 – 21 years of age in 2008 to be eligible to participate (athletes born January 1, 1987 to December 31, 1995). In addition, up to 2 new or developmental athletes per zone can be 22 years of age or older.
è Each team will be composed of 8 players (both male and female athletes are eligible) and be accompanied by 1 coach & 1 manager.
è Hoop height is 10 ft for the games and a size 7 ball will be used.
è Once selected to a zone team, a registration fee of $150.00 per athlete will be assessed by the BC Games Society which includes transportation, accommodation and meals associated with the Games in Kimberley/Cranbrook.
è Competitors must also be current members of the BC Wheelchair Basketball Society (junior membership for 18 years & under is $20/over 18 is $35).
Please call your zone rep below to confirm your attendance and confirm if you require a sports wheelchair for the camp! Remember to bring some snacks, a water bottle and a reversible jersey if you have one to the camp.
