BAYNTON WEST PERFORMANCE TROUPE
Dear Parents / Caregivers
Welcome to Performance Troupe! Your child has attended rehearsals for the past two weeks (Wednesday afternoon, 1.30pm - 2.30pm). The following information outlines the expectations and important information for this group.
It is a privilege to be in our Performance Troupe, so I am extending the offer of participation to any student who is well behaved, dedicated (this is a year-long commitment) and enthusiastic. The Performance Troupe will be undertaking a musical this year, which will be performed in Term 3. There will be opportunities to audition for main parts later this term and every child will receive a character or role in the musical, even if they are not successful in gaining a main part. The musical will be rehearsed during Performance Troupe rehearsals each week, with a possibility of extra weekly rehearsals for any student successful in auditioning for a main part.
Students are expected to participate in all rehearsals and performances for the duration of the year, unless a note is provided by parents or a student is absent from school on our rehearsal or performance day. Please note there is a “two strikes/absences and you are out” policy for each term of attendance in this ensemble. A strike is given if a child is at school but does not attend the rehearsal on that particular day. Strikes will not be given for any other reason (sickness, appointments, holidays, in school incursions etc.).
Please fill in the permission slip over the page and include your email address. I will set up an email group that I will use for most communication. Please note that I will send a note home with your child when important information about upcoming performances is given.
