JUNIOR COURSER: Open to all hounds of an eligible breed. A hound running alone shall receive a certification from a Judge on one date and a second certification from a different Judge at a later date, stating that the hound completed a 600 yard course with a minimum of four (4) turns. The hound must complete the course with enthusiasm and without interruption.
“It is recommended that Junior Courser hounds entering the open stake for the first time have successful coursing practice with other hounds before competing.”
STAKES OFFERED:
OPEN: Open to all hounds of an eligible breed that have obtained at least one of the following:
AKC Junior Courser Title, ASFA or CKC Field Champion Title (must show copy of championship certificate). Hounds that are disqualified from AKC may not be entered.
SPECIAL: Open to all hounds that are eligible to enter the Open Stake and have earned their AKC Field Championship Title. No championship points are awarded from this stake.
OPEN VETERAN: Open to all hounds which are eligible to enter Open or Special stakes, and in addition are at least 6 years of age on the day of the trial, except Whippets who must be 7 years of age and Irish Wolfhounds who must be at least 5 years of age. Championship points will be awarded.
BEST IN FIELD WILL BE OFFERED
All hounds will run twice, in trios if possible or braces unless excused, dismissed or disqualified. Hounds not present at the time of roll call will be scratched after a 5 minute grace period. Each entry will be examined at inspection for breed disqualifications. Bitches in season and lame hounds will be excused. Entry fees for hounds excused during inspection for bitches in season, lameness, or disqualifications will be refunded. Spayed and neutered hounds, without breed disqualifications, may be entered. Monorchid and cryptorchid hounds are ineligible to participate. Battery powered, continuous loop lure machines will be used. The lure will consist of white plastic strips. Backup equipment will be available. The members of the Bay Area Rhodesian Ridgeback Club reserve the right to alter the course plan as required by weather and/or field conditions on the day of the test/trial. A penalty of $5.00 will be assessed for any loose hound not competing in the course in progress.
Please bring your own food, shade and water, as this is an isolated site. Bathroom will be available. NCIWC assumes no liability for injury to any person or dog before, during or after these Tests/Trials.
710 yards, course will be reversed for finals, run-offs, BOB, and BIF.

ELIGIBLE BREEDS AND REGISTRY--Only purebred Afghan Hounds, Basenji, Borzoi, Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Pharaoh Hounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds, Whippets and all other eligible FSS breeds that are one year of age or older and have been registered with the American Kennel Club or an AKC recognized foreign registry or that have been granted an Indefinite Listing Privilege (ILP) may be entered.
RIBBONS AND TROPHIES:
Green qualifying ribbons will be awarded to qualifying hounds for Junior Courser Test.
