THE SUBSTANCE (Review Object Exercises: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8)

Step 1 – I am returning from a visit to the library.

Step 2 – I stop in front of my door to remove my shoes

Step 3 – I am engaged in one of the pages that say the world is flat.

TIME:

It is the 16th century, year 1564. It is 11:57 PM. The night is very calm and pleasant. It also has a very nice breeze.

PLACE:

It is set in Havering, the east end and poorer region of Europe. The town has a nearby lake. It is where everyone from town goes to do their laundry every Sunday. There is a nearby church that plays music every Wednesday evening and Sunday mornings. The music is usually what reminds the town when to do laundry and what day it is.

Conditioning Forces:

·  Outside, it is dark with only the moon to provide the light.

·  My feet are wet because of the rain.

·  When I step out onto the balcony, there is a pleasant breeze.

SURROUNDINGS:

In my room, there is a bed off to the corner in the left. It is neatly prepared. In front of my bed, there is a desk with a chair. This is where I do most of my readings. On the desk there is a candle. This candle has been used. It serves as a light source for when I am reading late at night and the moons’ luminous light isn’t enough for me to read comfortably.

Fourth Wall OR Fourth Side –

Primary Fourth Wall: Half of my fourth wall is a small balcony wide enough to fit only one person.

Secondary Fourth Wall: The wall is made of concrete and has outstanding texture. I sometimes find myself staring at the wall when deeply thinking.

GIVEN CIRCUMSTANCES:

Past-

I visited the library and picked up a book that I was terrifically interested in. I sat down and started reading it. I cannot believe the content inside the book. I quickly withdraw the book from the library and head home so I can read the book with more rigor. The night is beautiful so I sit down a nearby bench and read the book. I sit there for hours then head back home.

Inner Objects: Ideas start to boil in my head. I see this as a great opportunity to share my theory with the world.

Present-

I arrive from a visit to the library with a book that has false facts. I read it and I am amazed at how wrong the theory of the book is. I open my window and look outside. I know the world isn’t flat. While looking outside from my window I yell “THE WORLD ISN”T FLAT!!”

Outer Objects: I have the book with false facts with me in my room. I also have a candle that I will be using to help me read in the dark.

Future- I am now very interested in preaching my fellow neighbors about my theory.
