Baruch Hashem Our School Enrollment Is Rapidly Growing, However, Our Expenses Are Growing

Dear Parents,

Baruch Hashem our school enrollment is rapidly growing, however, our expenses are growing even faster. The Finance Board and I understand that significantly raising tuition is not an option we want to entertain.We therefore have to come up with some creative ideas to bring income to the school through other channels to balance our budget. We are happy to re-introduce one that is a win-win situation for both the parent body and Yeshiva K’tana.

For the past few years we have had a program where parents purchased gift cards to local supermarkets through Yeshiva K’tana. The school sells the gift cards at face value and receives a percentage of the sale back from the supermarket.

This coming school year, Yeshiva K’tana will be making this program mandatory: every family will need to purchase at least $400 a month in gift cards from the school.The parents receive the full $400 back in gift cards while Yeshiva K’tana earns a few thousand dollars each month. Participating supermarkets include Kosherworld, Shoprite and Stop and Shop. Aside from the supermarkets, we are working on a few other gift card options as well.

Yeshiva K’tana will accept checks as well as Visa or MasterCard for gift card purchases. Parents will subscribe for the gift cards of their choice in the amount that they would like at the beginning of the school year and they will automatically be sent their new gift cards each month. If a parent chooses to opt out, they can do so by paying a one-time fee of $600 for the year.

Of course, our gift card program is up and running, so if anybody is interested in purchasing gift cards now, please stop by the office.
