About Barnardo’s work

Barnardo’s believes in children. We work with the most vulnerable children and young people in theUK, helping them transform their lives and fulfil their potential. We supportalmost 120,000 children and their families through more than 370 communitybased projects.

Lloyds TSB Group have committed to raise over £1 million, to secure the futures of over 2,000 vulnerable young people, by supporting education, skills and training opportunities at Barnardo’s community based projects ensuring that these young people break out of their cycle of poverty and unemployment and begin their journey in life.

Children living in poverty, disabled children and those growing up in care are the most likely to slip through the education net. These children have already had their life chances stacked against them, without qualifications, they have limited access to further education and little chance of finding meaningful employment.

Our partnership vision is that all children and young people should be free from poverty, abuse and discrimination.
