World Meeting Of Families:

This takes place in Dublin in August. 10,000 volunteers are needed please consider being one of them. It could be a great experience for any young person. About 10,000 overseas visitors are expected, please consider being part of it.

Parish Listening Gathering:

The Archbishop is running these ‘parish listening gatherings’ in every parish around the diocese. Our gathering will be in May. There is a lot of local organisation to be ready for this gathering. We need to get the word out.

It’s most important that many people who no longer attend Mass regularly attend. The views of everyone are most welcome. Any suggestions how to attract in younger people would be most welcome.

Pro Life Speaker:

The Archbishop has given permission to a representative of PRO LIFEto speak at Masses around the diocese.

Our turn is next weekend; we look forward to welcoming a visiting speaker.

Family Fun Day Newsletter Notice:

Our free DiocesanFamily Fun Day in preparation for the World Meeting of Families (WMOF) will take place at Tipperary Racecourse on Sunday, 29th April from 1.00pm to 4.30pm.

Bus to Knock:

There will be a bus to Knock on Sunday 29th April 2018. The bus leaves: The Square in Mitchelstown @ 6.45am, Ballylanders Village outside the Church @ 7.00am.Galbally The Square @ 7.15am, Via Garryspillane, Knocklong @7.30am, Hospital @ 7.45am. Celebrating Earth Day: –

On Saturday, April 21st Amanda Dillion will explore the “the greening of the earth” theme from the writings of the great German mystic Hildergard of Bingen. Doon Convent Reunion 2018:

A reunion (for anyone who attended St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Doon up until 1965) will be held on Tuesday, July 10th 2018 in Ballykisteen Golf Hotel, Co Tipperary starting about mid-day. Further information is available from our website:

Buttercup’s School Aged Childcare Service:

Was open over Easter holidays for 2 weeks and was very successful. We are now hoping that this will continue over the summer months for parents that need childcare all year round. This service will only operate with confirmed bookings in advance. Please contact us on 087 2065314 if you need further details. School aged childcare is available for any child over 3 years currently attending Buttercup Pre-School and all kids in primary school and up to age 15years.

Ballylanders Parent & Toddler:

Runs in Ballylanders Day Care Centre every Tuesday morning from 10am to 12pm. All parents, carers, grandparents, dads welcome to attend. Ballylanders were beaten by last year’s County Champions Adare in the second round of the Senior Football Championship on a score line of 2-8 to 15 points.

Ballylanders Development Association:

Have launched a fundraising event for our local village park. The park is a very essential amenity to our village and we would love to see it developed further. It is important that everyone helps maintain this wonderful facility in the village. There are 4 draws for €5 each totalling €20 per family. Lines can be purchased locally in An Poc Fada, Gallahues Bar, Buttercup Pre-School, Mace and from any committee member. Thank you for your continued support.
