Position Title: Housekeeper (rooms division)

Reports to: Housekeeper reports to Operations Manager (whomever is on shift) & in her absence Front Desk Manager.

MajorResponsibilities:

Housekeeper:Responsible for cleanliness of all front of the house/public areas of the hotel including: lobby, dining rooms, lounges, patio, grounds surrounding the hotel and hotel rooms. Housekeepers work in teams of two when there are more than 8 rooms in house.

Main Duties:

Rooms:
Make & stripbeds, vacuum rooms, dusting, cleaning windows & glass, cleaning bathrooms – toilets, tubs etc, removing recycling from rooms,

Replace light bulbs, sweep entrances, empty garbage, clean floors, wainscoting, bannistersetc.

Fold laundry, restock laundry carts, equipping the rooms with appropriate amenities: towels, welcome letter, clean glasses,

Submit daily chart of rooms completed and any deficiencies found/maintenance report for items that need repair

Assets:
being physically strong is essential, energetic with a lot of stamina, outgoing and friendly, familiar with local Muskoka Tourist attractions, We need someone who enjoys working with young adults who work hard and are eager to please but sometimes need direction.

Hours & Wage:

Housekeeping:Two shifts depending on whether you are on cleaning public areas (8:30am start) or on rooms (10am start). Shift usually ends by 3 – 4pm on Saturday and Sunday and during the week by noon. Flexible on days off, but not weekends which are the busiest time. Hours per week fluctuate based on number of guest booked into the hotel. Most weekends in the summer are booked solid so days off are during the week. Staff are welcome to enjoy lunch on the picnic tables at back of the hotel. A fridge & water cooler are provided in the laundry. Rate of pay depends on experience level but could be $14.00with gratuity bonus if contract is fulfilled. Staff receive 50% off all food. It might be possible to car pool on some days with staff from Bracebridge or Gravenhurst.

For the right person who fits our culture we are very flexible to build a consistent schedule of 2, 3 or 4 days a week (whatever works best for you). We need a minimum of Saturday and Sunday.
