BACKGROUNDER ON PRANIC HEALING

Prana or life force is the animating principle of all living things. When the body is sick or in pain, the life force and thebody’s energy field are affected. Pranic healing teaches the technique of cleansing and recharging the energy body.

Indian Rishis, Chinese Taoists, and Tibetan Monks are among the many who have been using “prana” or energy inhealing for centuries.

What is Prana?

“Prana” is a Sanskrit word that means “life-force.” It is the vital energy which keeps the

body alive and healthy. In Greek, it is called pneuma, in Polynesian, mana. It is called ki

in Japanese, chi in Chinese, and ruahin Hebrew. There are three major sources of prana

from natural elements: the air, sun, and earth. A fourth source is divine prana which is

received through meditation and prayer. A pranic healing practitioner learns to draw in

prana from all four sources and transmit it to others for healing purposes.

Prana and Healing

The energy body — also to referred to as the “etheric” or “bioplasmic” body — both

interpenetrates and extends beyond the physical body. It has been scientifically proven

that disease and distress appear first in this energy body. The pranic healer cleanses the energy body by removing usedupprana and diseased energy, and then energizes the energy body with fresh vital prana. This procedure facilitates the physical body’s natural healing process.

Everyone has the innate ability to heal and relieve pain.

All that is needed to learn is a certain amount of concentration, determination and most of all the willingness to heal. Infact, it is easier to learn to heal than learning to ride a bicycle or play the piano. In its basic form, this process ofcleansing and energizing is so simple that it can easily be learned and used by anyone. Parents can use it on theirchildren, spouses can use it on each other – and everyone can use it on themselves.

Pranic healing is applied on the bio-electromagnetic field known as the aura, which contains the blueprint of the physical body. This bioplasmic body absorbs life energy and distributes it to the organs and glands. In the palm of your hands are energy centers called chakras. Through simple exercise, these chakras can be activated. Once activated, they

become sensitive to feeling others’ energy. You can scan their energy field to locate blockages and be able to cleanse, energize and revitalize the area with new prana.

Pranic healing is highly developed and well-tested — simple yet powerful and effective

no-touch energy healing. It is based on two fundamental principles: 1) that the body is a

“self-repairing” living entity that possesses an innate ability to heal itself, and 2) the healing process is accelerated by

increasing the vital energy in the affected part of the physical body.

Pranic healing is currently being taught to medical professionals,* massage therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors,

the clergy, homemakers, engineers and many others in all walks of life. It has allowed them to heal confidently and

consistently in the shortest learning time possible.
