Teams of three, numbered 1-3, standing behind their nests. Objects (space junk) placed in central nest. One at a time, a member from each team can go and retrieve one item from any nest. Game ends when time (to be determined by a leader) is over, and the winning team is the one with the most objects in their nest. / One more hoop than the number of teams e.g. five teams – six hoops (nests), 7-10 objects such as small balls, bean bags, blocks (space junk).

Aliens and Robots (Craft)
Using a tin can, various materials (such as cork, pipe cleaners, etc.) and glue guns, make an alien or a robot. See sample. When done, Joeysneed to make a paper rocket Joeys for the next activity. / Tin cans

Paper Rocket
Using the template and forming tube Joeys make a paper rocket for use in next activity. Using crayons quickly colour in, form the rockets and add fins. Add cotton ball to the end, and tape up the end. / Rocket pattern, crayons, scissors, sticky tape, cotton balls, forming tubes
7:00 / Stomp Rockets
Once paper rockets are made we will go outside and launch them. Have two rocket launchers available. Only the Joey launching their rocket will be next to the launcher, rest are behind the safety line / Rocket launchers, rope or cones for a safety line, safety glasses
7:15 / Orbital Relay
Place a chair (moon) at one end of the hall. Split Joeys into two teams. One at a time, the Joeys must run to the end of the hall, orbit the ‘moon’ and return to their team. The winner is the team who does their orbits the fastest. / Two chairs

Back Up activities
Keep up the Asteroids / Blow up balloons. These balloons are asteroids. Joeys must prevent the asteroids from hitting the planet (the floor).
