Revised September 2013

The degree Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance is 122 hours, not

including remedial coursework. The student should understand that dropping,

failing, or having to retake any coursework will make it difficult to graduate in

four years. Students should attempt to pass the piano proficiency by the

end of the fourth semester. Continuous enrollment in piano class or AMUS 1231

must be maintained each semester until the piano proficiency is completed. No

grade below C in the major area will be accepted towards graduation. Music

courses are not offered during the summer terms, so it is recommended that

students take core classes during those terms as needed. Advanced electives

must be MUSC 3xxx level or above.
