B1 A Bill to Increase the federal Minimum Wage

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. Within the United States and its Territories the federal minimum wage will be raised to $9.00 per hour,and tipped worker hourly wage will be increased to $4.50, beginning 60 days after enactment.

SECTION 2.Within the United States and its Territories, the Federal Minimum Wage will be raised to $10.10 per hour and tipped worker hourly wage will be increased to $5.05 per hour, beginning one year and 60 days after enactment

SECTION 3.This legislation shall become effective according to the timetable in Sections 1 and 2.

SECTION 4. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

B2A Bill to Aid Yemeni Rebel Groups

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. 100 million dollars in aid shall be directly given to the Yemeni Houthi

rebels.

SECTION 2. This money will be managed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

SECTION 3. USAID will assure that a majority of the aid is going to its intended

place and will withdraw all of this aid after one year if they deem the aid

to be ineffective.

SECTION 4. This bill will take effect 90 days after enactment.

SECTION 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

B3A Bill to Ban the United States’ Use of Combat Drones

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. The U.S. will cease the use of combat drones from all active and non active military zones.

SECTION 2. a. A Combat Drone is an unmanned remotely controlled aircraftused for military purposes and capable of inflicting deadly force.

b. Spy Drones are unmanned remotely controlled aircraft which may be used for military purposes including surveillance but not for inflicting deadly force. Spy drones are excluded from this legislation.

SECTION 3. The Department of Defense will oversee that combat drones are no

longer used by the U.S. Military.

SECTION 4. This legislation will take effect at the beginning of the fiscal year of 2016,

and should be in full enforcement by the end of the 2016 fiscal year.

SECTION 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

B4A Bill to Reform the Genetically Modified Crop Industry to Increase Safety

Standards

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. A. An excise tax of 5% shall be placedon the sale of all genetically modifiedcrop(GM crops) seed.

B. All revenue generated from the tax shall go towards an intensive program of research to evaluate adverse effects of the use of GM crops.

C. All foods containing components fromGM crops shall be labeled as such on product packaging.

SECTION 2. The “use of GM crops” shall be defined as the process of production of

seeds, use of GM seed to produce foodstuffs, and incorporation of the resultant crop into foods for human consumption.

SECTION 3. If.five years after the initiation of this program of research, no significant harm to humans has been identified,the tax will be reduced to 2% and that revenue be allocated to the continuing research andoversight

of the industry. If adverse effects are identified, the crops detrimental to

environmental and public safety shall be outlawed immediately.

SECTION 4. The Department of Health and Human Services shall be responsible for the implementation of this bill.

SECTION 5. This bill shall become effective January 1 , 2016.

SECTION 6. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

B5A Bill to Privatize NASA

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) shall no

longer be funded by the federal government.

SECTION 2. All subsidiaries and components of NASA shall be sold to private investors

and companies via a competitive bidding process to maximize asset recovery .

SECTION 3. A commission to dismantle and reallocateNASA assets

shall be established by the Senate Subcommittee on Science and Space. This subcommittee shall be responsible for the implementation of this bill and shall consult with the National Security Agency to assure this process will be consistent with national security.

SECTION 4. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) shall be charged with the regulation of space travel.

SECTION 5. This law will take effect within two (2) years of passage.

SECTION 6. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

B6A Resolution to Encourage an 800 Calorie Limit on Fast Food Meals

WHEREAS, Fast food restaurants promote meal package products of high caloric content, and

WHEREAS, These high calorie meals have the potential to contribute to the epidemic of obesity in the United States, and

WHEREAS, 800 calories represents approximately one third of daily normal caloric needs, so now, be it

RESOLVED, That the Congress here assembled urge the fast food industry to limit its meal promotions to a total of 800 calories

B7A Bill to Defund For-Profit Colleges

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. All federal funding, including tuition payments and aid currently supporting for-profit colleges will be terminated.

SECTION 2. A for-profit college is defined as a post secondary educational institution managed and governed by a private, profit seeking business.

SECTION 3. All students currently enrolled at for-profit institutions and receiving

financial aid will continue to receive funds until their graduation date,

or June 30, 2016, whichever event occurs first.

SECTION 4The Department of Education will oversee the enforcement of this bill.

SECTION5. This law will take effect Jan 1, 2015

SECTION6. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

R1A Resolution to Amend the Electoral College

Article I: Be it enacted by the student Congress here assembled that: the electoral collegevoting system be adjusted to a system in which the electors of each state may vote individually rather than collectively.

Article II: This bill shall allow for the possibility of a state’s electoral votes being split among the candidates of all parties. Electors will cast ballots for the President proportional to the numbers of votes received by the candidates in their respective states.

Article III: This bill shall go into effect for the election of 2016 and thereafter.

Article IV: The enactment of this bill shall be overseen by the Federal Election

Commission

Article V:All legislation in conflict with this bill shall hereby be declared null and void.

R2 A Resolution Regarding United States Relations with Cuba

Whereas,strict embargo, investment and trade restrictions are currently in place between United States and Cuba, and

Whereas, many of these restrictions limit, if not completely prohibit, United States-

owned businessinvestment in Cuba, and

Whereas, Cuba is on the verge of a cultural, economical, and political instability

allowing for policy change in the current Cuban government,Therefore, Be it Resolved, that a bipartisan, joint committee be established with the goal

of analyzing current and future United States-Cuban relations, and

Be it further resolved, that this committee be charged with reconsideration of current policy and recommendation for future policy with respect to investment in Cuba by United States corporations and individuals.

B8A Bill to Legalize Currently Illegal Immigrants

1 BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

2 SECTION 1. Illegal residents currently living and employed the United States shall be eligible for permanent residency status, being subject to all current regulations on permanent residency (green card) applicants except those affected by their status as an illegal resident.

6 SECTION 2. Illegal residents currently living and employedin the United States applying for permanent residency status shall not be counted under or restricted by any current limits or quotas affecting the number of new permanent residents or immigrants.

9 SECTION 3. This Legislation shall be enforced by the Department of Homeland Security.

11 SECTION 4. This legislation shall take effect on July 1, 2015.

R3A Resolution Concerning Internet Voting

Whereas, voter turnout has been as low as 20% in some elections, and

Whereas,in this technological era, a new voting system is possible, and

Whereas, traditional voting is inefficient, time-consuming and has not lead to full voter participation, and

Whereas, Internet voting would be less time-consuming and easier to perform than traditional voting, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED by the student congress here assembled that the United States should implement an internet voting system option for future federal elections.

R4A Resolution Concerning Congressional Term Limits

Whereas, the power of the United States of America to limit congressional terms of members of congress is neither assigned nor denied within the Constitution,and

Whereas,contrary to the intent of the Framers of the United States Constitution, politics has become a life career for many legislators, thus creating a self-servingclass of citizens, therefore, Be itResolved, that terms of representatives be limited three terms and senators to two terms.

R5A Resolution Concerning Control of the Ebola Epidemic

Whereas, the Ebola virus has created an epidemic of infection in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, and

Whereas,this viral infection has an extremely high mortality rate, and

Whereas,the spread of infection is from contact with bodily fluids including airborne droplet particles from infected individuals, and

Whereas,there is no demonstrated effective treatment of the resulting disease,

Whereas, isolation of infected individuals is the most effective method of stopping disease transmission, Therefore

Be it resolved by the student congress here assembled that the United States should deny entrance into the United States to all individuals who have been in the abovementioned countries within the last 30 days, and

Be it further resolved that no aircraft flights originating from the aforementioned countries be allowed to enter US airspace.

This resolution shall be in effect until the World Health Organization decrees the affected areas free of Ebola infection.

R6 A Resolution Concerning Improving Education Opportunity

Whereas, American students are falling behind ineducational achievement compared to other developed countries, and

Whereas,the quantity of instruction time is below that of other highly achieving countries, and

Whereas,homework is becoming a lessening part of education

Be it resolved by the student congress here assembled that the United States Department of Education encourage the States to increase the school year to 210 days of instruction and to require 1000 hours annually of instruction in grades 1 through 5 and 1300 hours of instruction annually in grades 6 through 12

R7 A Resolution to Abolish the Penny

Whereas, Thepenny costs more than its face value to produce, and

Whereas,The U.S.Mint has spent over $117 million to produce 7 billion pennies in this year alone, and

Whereas,consumers are less likely to spend pennies in future transactions, causing the penny to disappear from circulation faster than other coins, therefore
