March 10-11 NATO TELEMARK FESTIVAL at Mad River Glen, Vermont: Ultra Big Tele Action- A Legend…Chip, Laurie and the boys have headed north with a car full of skis and big grins on their faces. Meanwhile, the White Grass staff left behind can only imagine the fun they’re going to have. If it’s like last year, we can look forward to receiving T-shirts that say “My boss went to the NATO tele fest and all I got was this stupid shirt.”

Saturday update: Mad River Glen owner Betsy Pratt reports that conditions there are the best she’s ever seen in her 40-plus years of owning and managing the Mecca of telemark skiing. We’d be really, really jealous right now if it weren’t so nice here….

Just because you are wearing a beacon does not mean you will come out of an avalanche alive. But it does mean that if you aren't buried too deep you have a better chance of your friends getting to you quickly. What a great time! I am writing to tell you about the art I gave you and tell you what a rebirth our ski trip was. You all make everything seem easy. We ate at whitegrass two nights and had the most romantic supper with my husband in seven years. The art work is a good luck piece for you. This past weekend (2/24-2/25) was a total blast..

Amyand I skied Canaan in the am downhill then switched to cross country stuff and took the lift up and skied Bald Knob Trail, wow it was great. The snow was great in the woods although a little thinon Powerline but it was great. The view from Bald Knob was, well you know. Next time we are starting from your place and cruising over to the Sods. We love your state we average about 10 trips a year, skiing, camping, and biking. The e-mail you got about overnight in the Sods sounds neat.
