KINDERGARTEN
Dear Parents:
Welcome to a wonderful yearin Kindergarten. We are looking forward to a happy and healthy year. When you buy school supplies for your child, please consider the following suggestions:
- Please send these items in a large brown bag with your child’s name on the outside of the bag:
a)Two large 8 oz. bottles of white Elmer’s glue (with no-clog top) with your child’s name on it.
b)A large box of tissues, one box of baby wipes, and a roll of paper towels.
c)A box of LARGE 8 color crayons.
d)A box of regular 16 color crayons.
- Your child will need a backpacklarge enough to keep all papers organized. Your child should know how to open and close their backpack. NO WHEELED BACKPACKS.
- On the first day of school, your child will be given a folder to use. After that you may replace the folder when needed.
- Please put papers in child’s folder and return folder to school each day. THE FOLDER MUST BE RETURNED EACH DAY.
- YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL FORMS SENT HOME AND RETURN THEM TO SCHOOL THE FOLLOWING DAY.
- Your child will need a lunch box to keep snacks and lunch in.
- If your child is bringing lunch, please label snacks and lunch. If your child is buying lunch or milk, please send the EXACT amount and label the envelope with your child’s name and their lunch choice. All money must be in an envelope.
- Send in one snack each day. It must be healthy and nutritious. Some ideas are fruit, vegetables, cheese and crackers, or yogurt. DO NOT SEND COOKIES, CAKES, CANDY OR OTHER SUGARY SNACKS. If the snack requires a spoon, please send one in. We cannot supply spoons.
- Please label all lunch boxes, backpacks and glue with your child’s name and room number.
- Reporting time is9:00AM. Latecomers MUST report to the main office.
- Dismissal time is 2:55 PM. PLEASE BE PROMPT and pick up your child at the assigned door.
- Your child should be able to take care of their own bathroom needs. They should know how to flush the toilet and wash their hands after using the bathroom.
- Please make sure your child knows how to zipper their jacket and tie their shoes!
- Please tie shoelaces securely if your child does not know how to tie their own shoes.
- Over the summer, please review your child’s full name, address and telephone number with them. Your child should be familiar with this information when they begin school.
- Please inform your child’s teacher if your child rides on the bus or goes to morning care or after care.
