aweek 4 rotary Operational Guideline Tips

Primary goal; remember our primary goal is public awareness of rotary service, if we do that right (we will improve our donor support and membership as a by-product)

We will have a greater impact if we work together in our groups or with a partner club and not as sole autonomous identities – the truth is that rotary is strong because we combine to form 1.2 million people with the same goals and purpose. Partnerships are the way of the future.

Work with other clubs through your assistant governor

Legal requirements;Be aware of local government and shopping centre rules and regulations but don’t be afraid to ask for favours – they are also a part of the community we serve.

If you need clearance from a State Government entity such as the Transport Authority please do this through DG Eric.

We are working with our insurance agents to gain special a Certificate of Currency to cover the Adelaide City Council requirements for Mall site hire. Please contact our Insurance Officer Henry Rzemieniuk

Litter; be aware to clean-up after closing a display or pick up handouts dropped by the public.

Be seen; remember to wear your club clothing and also your dinner or another large name badge. Have your club pull-up banner on display if allowed in the area. Just being seen in public perhaps holding a sign saying “ask me about Rotary” will reap rewards

Money; It hoped that each club will commit a small budget to finance a program in their local area. The district is willing to allocate some dollars to assist, in particular where the items have a multi-club/generic use or rental of display space in Rundle Mall. Please contact DG Eric.

For future reference I am really keen to keep track of what the actual cost, in $’s and/or the in-kind support is for your club or committee participation in a week 4 rotarythis includes planning i.e. meeting costs, promotional materials, printing of posters/banners/flyers, rental space for displays etc. In fact anything you spend personally or as a club, (in-kind or donated)

The simple word table below can be copied and will act as a notification when sent to Bob Tinker our district Treasurer who will collate and keep track of the total expenditure. Feel free to send your item costs or freebies to Bob as you pay or keep a record to send at the end of the week.

Example

Description of item / Number / $ or DIK / Comments -use / Club/Committee
A 4 Flyers –general club information / 300 / 15.00 / Shopping centre / RC Adel Pks
Pull up banners / 2 / 280.00 / Library display / TRF
Rundle Mall Display site / 2x2 days / 1173.00 / Club & RI Programs / Group 1

Your ideas; let us not lose your ideas or those generated at the workshop meeting on the 19th – even if they turn out to be not possible this year, I will collate a register of ideas you would like to implement this year and tick off what you achieve in 2012.

The plan is to update this document on a weekly basis, please email me if you can add an issue

DG Eric.
