AWARDS CEREMONY AT INDIAN SCHOOLALGHUBRA

The excellence and meritorious achievements of the students of CBSE and CBSEiIndian School Al Ghubrawas celebrated at the Awards Ceremony held on 26 April 2016. His Excellency, IndramaniPandey, Ambassador of India to Oman, was the Chief Guest.

Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman, Members of the School Management Committee, dignitaries, parents and well-wishers of the school were also present at the event.

Haya Srivastava welcomed the Chief Guest by presenting a potted plant. The

cultural programme commenced with ‘Singing Stars’- the Junior Choir from CBSEi who sang ‘The Dream Boat’. The students of Classes 5 and 6 presented ‘What a wonderful world’ a tribute to 25 glorious years of ISG. The synchronization of hand movements and the use of props which complemented with the special UV lighting mesmerized the audience.

In his exhortation, His Excellency IndramaniPandey, Ambassador of India to Oman expressed his delight upon the institution‘s successful completion of 25 years.He urged the teachers to prepare students to meet the challenges of the

21st century education as there is a need for the children to keep themselves abreast with the changing trends in the field of technology. His Excellency stated that equal opportunities should be given to girls to help them gain a firm footing in society.

The Principal, Mrs. PapriGhosh welcomed the gathering and elaborated on the stupendous achievements of the students in academics, co-curricular activities, sports and especially community service.Mrs. Ghosh attributed the success of the community service projects tothe students -driven initiativewhich has helped raise a large sum of money and render services for a variety of causes. She expressed that the success and focus of the school lies in honing the skills ofan ordinary student to make himextraordinary.

The President of the Management Committee, Mr. Ahmed Rayeesstated that ISG links its success to its alumni who are placed in topnotch professions and are pursuing studies in renowned universities. He expressed that the aim of the school was not only to help students accomplishin academics and extracurricular activities but train them to be rooted in strong values.

Students who achieved excellence in academics, sports, art and general knowledge received their awards and certificates from His Excellency and special awards were given to teachers who completed 25 years of service and others who completed 20, 15 and 10 years too.

This spectacular event came to a successful close with the vote of thanks which was proposed by Anisha Mathew and Abhishek Anil of Class 12.
