Awaken through an African Journey

4th – 8th October 2004

Educo Africa’s African Journey Course gives you the opportunity to breath in the vastness of the Groot Winterhoek Mountains, rich with indigenous fynbos vegetation and history… the opportunity to experience the heartbeat of the wild while enjoying close interaction with vibrant and dynamic African youth.

This unique 5-day opportunity is a wilderness encounter of a different kind. Coleridge Daniels, Manager of Educo’s Siyavuka Youth at Risk Programme, will guide this meeting across continents and generations. Selected young African participants from low-income, high-risk communities will form a vital part of the group, allowing for quality interaction throughout the process. Come ready to be inspired, deeply moved, and to share of your own wisdom and worldview under starry African skies.

The programme will be held in the Groot Winterhoek Wilderness Reserve, near Porterville, Western Cape, South Africa. Activities will include a journey through the urban jungle, mountain backpacking, camping in the wild, dialogue, storytelling and a taste of Educo’s African Wilderness methodology.

Group size is limited to 8 adult participants, so book early to ensure your place!
