The Peninsula Manila suggests saying “happily ever after” à la française at Weddings at The Peninsula 2014
The Peninsula Hotels marks its debut in Europe with the opening of The Peninsula Paris in August 2014. The site, in the exclusive 16th arrondissement, close to the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe, is a century-old Beaux Arts building located on Avenue Kléber. In celebration of the opening of The Peninsula Paris, The Peninsula Manila presents Avec Amour: Weddings at The Peninsula 2014 – a wedding fair celebrating all things French – on 21 June 21 2014 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Planning a wedding is a mammoth task, involving a great deal of research and extensive preparation. The Peninsula Manila’s wedding specialists promise to take away some of the stress by offering couples a unique bridal experience where they can meet the best and most exclusive purveyors showcasing wedding cakes, flowers, bridal gowns and formal wear; perfumes, cosmetics, rings and registries; limousines and honeymoons, all spiced with a dash of French élan and savoir faire.
The love affair with France begins at The Lobby, whose décor will be inspired by the Tuileries Gardens in Paris. Creative Director Anna Fay Rosal promises that her floral installations with their hundreds upon hundreds of blooms reminiscent of this royal French garden will be the ultimate place to find inspiration for wedding-day blossoms. They will be a fitting backdrop to the elegant car display by Rolls Royce, the posh fragrance experience by Hermès and the glittering showcase of stunning jewelry from Bvlgari where one can choose the best engagement rings and wedding band unions.
The Upper Lobby will be turned into a Rustan’s Weddings & Beyond pop-up store offering only the very best in French fashion, skincare, fragrance and beauty products that are a bride’s best friends when going for striking eyes, youthful skin, pretty lips and perfect brows for that walk down the aisle. Participating brands include L’Occitane en Provence, Clarins Paris, Nars, Laura Mercier, Murad, Sisley Paris, Sinéquanone, Diptyque Paris, Monotheme Fine Fragances, Acca Kappa and Annick Goutal Paris for cosmetics and fragrances, Bernardaud, Lenox and Lalique for tableware and home décor.
The Conservatory will be transformed into Executive Chef Richard Green’s emporium of culinary wonders with his selection of mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres and five-star entrées that are integral to a wedding reception menu. Chef Richard Green has dedicated his time to share his expertise to ensure that couples will have a gastronomic feast on their special day. The culinary consultation will happen from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. But not to be outdone, it is the course unveiled after dinner that wedding guests anticipate the most. Top pastry chefs and patisseries will be offering today’s modern brides not just frosted tiers of wedding cakes but also innovative confections—from bite-size bonbons to classic treats prepared with a contemporary gourmet twist. To help wash this down is some perfectly chilled Moët & Chandon Champagne and TWG Tea Salon’s seasonal blends and favorite varieties that will be available for sampling.
The Gallery will feature a carefully curated gathering of the country’s most exclusive wedding suppliers whose seasoned advice is an invaluable resource when planning one of the most important moments in a young couple’s life.
At 6:00 pm on 21 June, the doors of the Rigodon Ballroom will open revealing the most stunning bridal gowns by internationally acclaimed Filipino designer Francis Libiran in “Francis Libiran: Weddings.”
